So here are some quick news about my lastest findings also associated with a small Lynae mod update :
From my lastest Lynae mod release and until to today, I've been working on gathering more knowledge on Kuro's 3.0 assets. I think I've deciphered the last texture channels mecanisms and also find out their exact new texture format! I'm glad I managed to do this just before Mornye!
Thanks to this, I now have a functional "damaged state" for Lynae. Because yes, if you haven't ticked the XXMI starting option "Disable wounded effect", my mod... and not only mine but like 99% all mods, were having issues when your Lynae entered this condition after taking a certain threshold of damage (if not nullified by the creator). But now I think I can manage to sustain it for all 3.0 character up to a certain quality.
Let me try to explain the principle : unlike before 3.0 where it was an independant texture file, the new wounded state is now on a channel on a new "bizarre" texture file that gathers a lot of infos. It now applies those scratches and wounds as a layer instead of a full texture swap. So it's not only faster but it's also much more flexible : This allows all mods that doesn't do full character swaps to sustain this feature. So Lynae for X genshin/HSR character or mods that radically change her clothes to christmas, bunny, fairy etc won't behave well. On the opposite it could supposedly goes very well with my mods. For Lynae's case it's not 100% perfect : the darker skin won't be supported and holes will reveal a white skin (and I believe there is no way to change that properly). Still, as you can see on my screenshot above, result is not too shaby... It's even pretty decent! And this my friends would be horrible if not impossible to do before 3.0 so I'm kind of happy of what's going on with this new system!
Anyways, if you don't care about wounded/damaged state it's totally alright, just keep it disactivated for a maximum stability. But with my past mods I always tried to make them kind of work while having this feature left "activated" and at least now I know how to properly handle it for any new 3.0 characters. It shall be far better than my 2.0 results as I could now able to put those scratches on my reworked textures!
Okay that's it! Next stop : Mornye. You can guess I have a couple of ideas already! One in particular that could be awesome but I need all her data to see if it's doable. Like always, allow me 1-2 week for her mod to be released. I wish you all (myself included) much luck for your pulls! We have to be wary with resources because Kuro is shooting stars at us with a gatling gun and we were definitely not ready to catch them all!
