This was a good episode! We saw Saffron again which I didn't expect at all! It was actually fun seeing them work together even though they ended up double crossing each other at the end lol But the last scene was hilarious! Inara really saved the day this time around. Though I'm still hoping we talk about River's new found abilities sometime soon!

There's no reason you'd remember since you watched Dollhouse before Firefly, but an episode near the end of Dollhouse had a reference to this episode. We see in a flashback when Caroline broke into DeWitt's office and found Bennett's (Summer Glau / River) file. She reads "Off the charts smart... she could kill you with her brain."

Not only did he know she was there, but when he opened it she seemed pretty miffed that he actually put her there. Book is his name. Shepard is his job/title. Much like they call Mal "Captain" sometimes and "Mal" other times. He is referred to as either.

2024-08-25 00:43:50 +0000 UTCI don't think it is, because the point of saying that Yolanda was not her real name was that she was in the con life before that. That she didn't change to being a con after him. I believe her story of thinking she could get out of that life if she had everything, but not being content to stay there was true. And given Inara's assessment of her having companion training fits. Saying her real name wasn't Yolanda was to make it clear that she didn't change after that marriage (though I do believe that was her first marriage, I trust Mal's reading of her) like some may suspect and like Riley wondered for a minute.
