Movies and Tv Tier

I've added the movie tier! The plan is to do one movie a week and were starting with Buffy! I'll begin the MCU next week and then we'll eventually get to Agents of Shield!

Also, what movie should I start with for the MCU or if anyone has a list please leave/link it in the comments!

I thought of a movie suggestion that might seem a little out of the box. In 2012, while he was working on The Avengers, Joss Whedon shot a black and white version of Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing. Many of the lead actors are from Whedon's TV shows; Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse, Firefly. Very approachable and funny. If you can get ahold of a DVD you could check out one of the commentary tracks which features the whole drunken cast riffing on the movie.

AOS has very similar whedon humor so she should find it interesting at least. If she decides she doesn't like the that is fine. She doesn't have to watch all the movies for AOS after Avengers. It just gives better context.

Start with Iron Man 1

I'm hopeful she enjoys AoS, but she's not watching it for herself, but because it won a poll. If she ends up not loving the MCU, it's a metric ton to throw everything at her. I really hope folks will be understanding if it's just not her thing.

Start from the last one and work your way back, be different haha!

For the MCU, release order is the way to go - the movies don't flow properly any other way - which means Iron Man is first. A full list could be considered spoilery though - depends on how much you want to know in advance, or if you just want to know which movie is next

My boring answer would be Iron Man since it was the first MCU film produced, but on the other hand, Captain America: The First Avenger could potentially be watched first as well as it kinda shows the beginnings of Hydra.

Agents of SHIELD started between Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World - if you'd like a timeline of how Agents of SHIELD and the MCU movies timelines interact, hit me up - I provided the same for Darcie

https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/marvel-movies-in-order/ release order is the first list with dates. That is the best one. The numbered list is the chronological order. That is best as a rewatch order of you ever watch them again. AOS starts after Iron 3. After that we will tell you when to watch the next movie. As a bonus the show (Not the one shot) Agent Carter can be watched after Captain America First Avenger if you want on your own time. It is 18 episodes.
