Agents of Shield and New Tier

So it looks like Agents of Shield is winning (the Good Place isn't too far behind though). I heard that it's best to watch some movies before the show for context and stuff. I've been thinking about making a movie tier for awhile now so I thought maybe I could start by reacting to those movies (the Buffy and Firefly movies too!). Then I would do the show after that. What do you guys think?

(If I have time maybe I could start the Good Place in the mean time I'm not sure though)

I would join a movie tier, but I'd like to suggest that the Firefly movie, at least, be considered for the current regular tier (essentially treated as an extra long series finale) since it's more 'part of the show' than the other MCU movies are for AoS. The MCU movies are important for background and some continuity, but they aren't as directly connected as the Firefly movie is to the series.

I edit in my spare time and I could maybe help with Agents of shield edits if she needs it I would just need some direction on what she wants.

not sure if anyone in the community is experienced with editing, but getting some assistance for riley on that front might be incredibly helpful.

I'd definitely join a movie tier. And I love the idea of starting The Good Place & some movies, seeing as the vote was so close for so long. Either way I really hope to see TGP on the channel in the future, as I think you'd love it. But my recommendation kinda depends on how much MCU you've seen. If none, then I'd definitely recommend at least "Iron Man", "Captain America: The First Avenger" & "The Avengers". It's also a small out - if you really don't like those movies, the show probably isn't for you (and it sucks to start a really long show you don't enjoy). If you've already seen some/most of those, I'd recommend rewatching the avengers on your own to refresh your memory before starting.

The initial MCU films do add context and background world-building to AoS, but as others mentioned you could get by without watching them - the show covers everything you absolutely need to know. If you were to just watch one film then The Avengers would be the best option. One thing that might be worth considering if you haven't seen the MCU films, then if you were to post reactions to them to YT you'd probably draw in new subscribers and patrons. TGP episodes are only 20-25 minutes (with a couple of exceptions) rather than the usual 45+, so you could potentially double up, or (if you feel you have the time) add one episode to an existing recording session Just a reminder - Serenity (the Firefly movie) needs to wait until after Firefly is finished

I'd subscribe to a movie tier 👍

Agents of shied is top tier . Very underrated. You will love the show . I was hooked after episode 1 . And rewatched it like. 3 times . It's that good .

The Buffy movie the reason i even started watching Buffy in the first place. Movie tier could work if you have the time . I've never watched Good place . Nobody reacts to it. I feel like that means it's not good. If you enjoy Buffy Veronica mars . Mystery action and drama type shows . Good place completely left field . Charmed ,and other shows Good for you bussiness wise . People would just sign up just for that . Nobody rushing to see Good place . Murder , mystery , drama shows just do better. I've never heard people debate the best shows they've seen. The Good place has never cane up. People have to consider you have to enjoy it to . If you want to we should vote to see if Good place can win a poll over those other shows. They had like 10 and 8 seasons. Those are hit show. Smallville and charmed fan bases show up .

For AoS, I personally don't believe you need to watch any of the movies first, although if there was one to watch it would be the first Avengers movie. I'm pretty shocked it won the poll, but very happy as I love the show and think you will have fun with it.

The first phase MCU movies would add to your experience for AoS but it's not absolutely 100% critical like you wouldn't get what was happening or who anyone was. Darcie (of Darcie's Watching Stuff and Darcie's Not Here channels) just finished season 1 on her Patreon and she said she thinks she could have gotten by without the movies, but she's had fun watching them and there are some references to the movies that are a nice bonus. I'd say if you haven't seen any of the MCU - and I know there are people who just haven't, shocking as that is to some of us - and you are intrigued at all, the movies that set up the show would be fun to do. There are a few more that the show specifically references over its run, and those films would be good to watch at the appropriate time *if* you are interested in the movies. If you just aren't into the movies, or can't find the time to keep up with it, they really are mostly optional.

If you made a movie tier, I would 100% join it. The movies aren't necessary to watch before "Agents of Shield", but they definitely add to the experience. If you do decide to watch the movies before, "Iron Man", "Iron Man 2", "Thor", "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "The Avengers" (watch them in this order) are the important ones to watch if you haven't already. If you have the time to start "The Good Place", I definitely wouldn't say no. It truly is an excellent show. However, I would prefer that you start doing movie reactions if you don't have the time to do both because I really want to see your reaction to the Firefly movie after you finish the show.

For AOS the bare minimum movie is Avengers 1. But it is best to watch all the movies before that to fully understand the story being told. Have you watched the MCU before? The good place episodes are short so if you do at least two a week the you could finish season 1 in about a month and a half. If you do a movie a week then you will reach iron 3 and the good place finale in the same week. AOS starts after that movie. Since AOS is ahead with voting but has required reading I think this is the best of both worlds. We get a season of good place and the Movies. Then AOS and by then you will have finished your other shows right and you can continue with both. Or you could just watch the movies in your own time then do AOS. It is long but worth it.

I'm glad you're planning on doing the Firefly movie. Some people skip it :/

Brandon Pierce

I love AoS, but it's long af, especially when you add all the movies... ima need yall to get off your butts and go vote Good Place! If it wins we can get both by 2025. If AoS wins, it'll take like 3 years lol

Bisibia

I probably support a movie tier

Riley 🙏🏻please🙏🏻 check out The Good Place, regardless of your decision otherwise! But to answer the actual question, I’d love to see you react to movies, Serenity of course, but even unrelated films! I think you’re lots of fun to watch with, so I’d totally be up for it.

Audra Foxgrove

Definitely a movie tier, I'd love see you react to the Buffy movie!
