Added 2024-07-07 21:42:49 +0000 UTCThere was a lot of shows suggested and there was some I wanted to include but couldn't because there is already a ridiculous amount of shows in the poll lol I tried to include the ones I saw suggested a lot and ones I was interested in!
There will probably be another new show poll soon because the shows were watching right now are pretty short so look out for that! I'll mix it up and include some other shows in the next one (like Haunting of Hill House is one I'm really interested in so that will most likely be in the next poll!)

OG Charmed should get some love as well riley if you love buffy and angel you will love charmed believe me its better than buffy in my opinion

I try to weigh both up, and I am conscious of the fact that Riley has mentioned wanting to watch X-Files at least once, so that is where my vote went. I love it, but I have already watched it several times. Otherwise, I was leaning more towards Lucifer (only ever watched once) or Roswell (been really keen to find a reactor to watch along with for my first time).

At this point it's clearly between AoS and The Good Place, and *maybe* Doctor Who and BSG as distant third and fourth. If you've voted for anything else you might want to consider changing to one of the leaders (if there's one you're interested in, even if you care less about it than the show you *did* vote for).

2024-07-09 16:49:48 +0000 UTCThe one thing I don't like about these polls is, a lot of times people just pick whatever their favorite show is. Don't get me wrong, all of these are fantastic shows. I'm just not sure they all match the reactor's vibe. Like I watch of anime reactors, and even though they like the mystery or romance elements of a show, something like Dragon ball Z will win a poll.

2024-07-08 21:19:26 +0000 UTCI'm a big fan of agents of shield, so if it gets picked that would also be great for me (the tail end of season 1 it becomes genuinely fantastic tv). still, riley is probably the only reactor i'd keep subbed to even if not actively watching shows. when i want a reminder of how incredible it is when she's excited for something, i can pop on the musical buffy episode and that tells me sticking with x-files is what i plan to do. while it's certainly long, i suspect other folks will stick around if she's excited for what she's watching. i've got no idea if she's going to enjoy AoS or Smallville, so i'd rather just go where i know she'd like to end up.

2024-07-08 16:31:32 +0000 UTCI'm a huge Doctor Who fan, but even if you skip all of classic Who, that's still 14+ seasons (and a bunch of specials), which might be a bit of a haul (though I suppose with the lower episode count, that's still less than all of Buffy) My vote's going to The Good Place. It's a great show in its own right, but it's also a perfect series for binging/reacting to, as it's not too long and has a tangible beginning and ending.

2024-07-08 09:48:55 +0000 UTCI just think it’s a perfect show to react to. The show is so iconic and important to pop culture and was a huge influence on modern television and fandom culture. The MOTWs are superb. There is so much social commentary and discussion that can be raised, even in today’s society. Anyone who loves Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Horror needs to have seen the show, even just to see the impact that it’s had. I will always promote The X-Files lol I mainly just feel like Riley would love it, based on her reactions I’ve seen. I think it’s worth it, even if it is a long commitment.

It is a shame that I have zero interest in the three options that are currently in the lead (Battlestar Galactica, Agents of Shield and Dr Who). I was also keen on Roswell, but with only a fraction of the total number of votes, I am better off putting my vote somewhere meaningful.

2024-07-08 03:23:42 +0000 UTCI love the idea of Riley reacting to the X-Files, but I think as a replacement for Dollhouse, it's maybe a little on the long side. If she's doing X-Files AND Veronica Mars, it'll be over a year before anything replaces either of them (and X-Files will last over four years anyway, at least if Riley sticks to a one-a-week schedule and doesn't use a curated watch list). Personally, I would like to see Riley mix some shorter and longer shows so if one very long series like X-Files, Charmed, Smallville, or TVD wins, I'd hope the Firefly replacement ends up being something that won't also take years to complete. Otherwise, some viewers who happen to not be interested in any of the shows she's watching at a given time would have to wait a very long time before having a chance to see something else.

Pilot was written by Joss whedon and his brother jed is one of the showrunners. I consider it a cousin to the the whedonverse. I think you would LOVE it. The good place is also great.
