I'm enjoying the show so far! We got some worldbuilding in this episode and the guy that hired them was really scary. So happy they decided to return the medicine! I'm sure they wouldn't have taken the job in the first place if they knew the full context. Also that ending! We got a little bit more of River's story and I'm really curious to learn more about it!
I guess I could tell you how to disable the balloons, but honestly it's too much fun :-D Try giving a double thumbs up some time.

I don't think Jayne cared about the fight, other than seeing a tussle and couldn't resist being a part of it.

First of all, I am really impressed by how well you remembered all of the characters and most of the names. This show does have a lot of characters and you did amazingly well.
Also, in that one scene what River says is “Mal: bad, in the Latin.” You can interpret what she means by this (if anything) on your own, but I will say what is being referenced is that literally the word for “bad” in Latin is “mal.”
Also, the birthday balloons jumpscare is sending me.

Hey Riley I'm so glad you're watching Firefly. It's the 2nd best tv show ever made after Buffy😁. Firefly fans often refer to themselves as Browncoats in solidarity with Mal and the Independents. It's awesome how much you like the show.

Book mentioned briefly in the first episode that he was "taking a journey," the implication being that it's sort of a spiritual, find oneself, leaving the abbey and exploring the universe sort of deal. "How you get there is the worthier part" a voyage for the voyage's sake with the actual destination being kinda beside the point.
