OMG all the episodes I've watched this week have been so good! I loved this one so much! We got lots of flashbacks with Spike, Angel, and Druscilla. Plus that reveal at the end!! Hello!!??? I wanted him to come back but I didn't think he actually would. Also, I knew we couldn't trust Eve but she almost had me in this episode lol

2024-01-09 21:26:00 +0000 UTCWhat I find interesting about Angel having sex with Dru in the flashback of this episode, is that this is plausibly the first time that happened. In "Darla," when right before Dru turns William, she laments that Angel won't touch her. This is consistent with Angel's MO. He's driven Dru insane and turned her to make her suffering last forever, so he's basically done with her. She's his walking masterpiece. Then William comes along, and the instant William talks about he and Dru being proverbial soulmates, Angel feels compelled to take that away from him. He's effectively self-harming (emotionally) by hurting this person who's become a close companion; because he had this compulsion to take away the things that made someone happy, that made them in anyway feel human, and he'd do that to others as well as himself.
