Added 2022-06-24 19:33:53 +0000 UTCSo after seeing the news today, I wasn’t sure if I had the stomach to draw a comic like I’d planned… If you’re an American, and especially if you live in a “trigger state” like I do where abortion is now a class B felony, I’m sure you feel the same.
But I do think a huge theme of Snail Diaries has been taking negative experiences & interactions and turning them on their head. (Although plenty of them are just silly and sweet!) It’s been a way for me to heal and take back control of situations where I felt powerless. I mean, I created the snail character specifically to write comics about my abusive relationship in a ridiculous and cartoony light!
So, here’s today’s comic. It’s always been my hope that we can survive through the hard times and come out the other side able to smile just as big as we did before. To find the silliness in every day! So I’m going to continue making work that I feel reflects that wish. I know this comic is about a horrible situation, but I hope it can still make you laugh.

I admit I kind of wondered if this is how that search went. Someone yelling Soup at the top of their lungs, did you have anyone ask if you were selling?

I was in an abusive relationship while reading them, and being able to relate made me realize I was being abused. Your work has helped change my life for the better and I love that.
