Buffy the Vampire Season 7 Review

Thanks for everything Riley. i appreciate your thoughtful responses and, of course, your love of Buffy! I haven't been able to give up Buffy for 25 years so I get where you're coming from. There's season 8 in comic book form if you're interested, plus a couple of standalone Willow and Tara centric issues ;0) I spent a bunch of money and a couple of years or so buying them all. I know there's a season 9 also but I got poor and I'm not a big comics person. You need to be finished with the Angel series first but there was just an Audible original Buffyverse story released in October that features og characters and actors. I think someone else already mentioned checking out the movie, it's worth watching just to be able to compare how the two executed the same idea.

I think you'd enjoy the behind-the-scenes YouTube video of the musical episode OMWF - would love to see you react to this. Also, you made an interesting point (well you made many, but this one especially!) about shows these days not having the subtlety of shows that used to get made 20 or so years ago. I think part of the reason for this could be that seasons are nowhere near as long (like, 10 episodes compared to 22 for eg.) so don't have time to draw out an idea such as Dawn being introduced to the show and playing with the viewers' mind for a few episodes before a reveal. Perhaps nowadays shows feel like they have to use the sledgehammer approach (metaphorically, obviously) as there's not as much time to work with. I'm not saying they're all like this, but generally.
