I'm just going to keep this short so I can get this up asap! I really enjoyed this episode. I'm sad Cassie did end up dying in the end. She would have been a good character to add as Dawn's friend or something. Also, she said some interesting things to Spike and Buffy that might be hinting at something that will happen later in the season maybe?

This episode is so difficult to watch but for good reasons. That scene where she just... goes into Cassie's father's house and accuses him of drinking too much... as a counselor, as a staff member at this child's school, you cannot do that. They never even had any evidence that he was ever violent with her, they just showed up and started making accusations. This is Buffy's first week at work, and while she had a great start with getting the kids to open up to her... this is now how you deal with a potentially suicidal teenager. And you DEFINITELY do not berate them for "not wanting to live." Of course they want to live. They want nothing more than to be happy and "normal" and to thrive in the world, but they are not able to, and they need help - not a lecture. Buffy, I love you, but they really should have had you shadowing a licensed professional before throwing you in the deep end like this.
