I went on so many unintentional rants in this reaction. I'm sorry for continuously bringing up the Wesley and Angel thing but I don't even realize how much I talk about something when I make these because I'm just running on pure emotions lol
I think a better and shorter way to express my thoughts is that I agree that Wesley should have told them and Angel has the right to be mad about that but it doesn't justify how Angel treated him. Wesley still almost died trying to save Angel's son. I think his intentions matter a lot in this situation. I also don't think it's fair to put the blame on Wesley when there are so many other factors.
I feel like this explains my opinion better than I did in the video. I was getting too emotional with my rants lol

Wes is my favorite character on Angel. I felt very much like you do, and did for years. Then I had a child. It changes you, deeply. In ways very difficult for someone who hasn't been a parent to fully understand. It's primal. I'd have done much worse than trying to suffocate him with a pillow. He would have become a was. The second I saw him. Regardless of consequences. That doesn't mean it's right. It's not just. It's not moral. But anyone harms my son, they're gone from this life. No question.

2023-06-11 01:16:28 +0000 UTCWe saw what a human would be like without a soul in, "I've Got You Under My Skin," in season 1 - Ryan, the boy who was possessed by an Ethros, turned out not to have a soul; and consequently kept the Ethros suppressed and the boy was so evil, the Ethros longed for death. Basically, humans without souls are the monsters that monsters fear. But, this would also assume that Gunn would have been allowed to live, which is unlikely; especially since the enforcer demons says he gets the bodies afterwards.
