She most likely had a heart defect, like her siblings who also had deformities. I’m hoping Breakfast will make it, he’s always been the strongest! But at this point, who knows. And I’m also thinking of renaming him Sandwich… cause he’s so inbred. I’m trying my best to stay strong. I wish Salad could’ve had a better start in life, I feel so awful for her!

Sorry for the lack of art this week, as you may now, things have been balls to the walls as the kids say. But it's finally starting to calm down and I'm so happy to introduce you to Salad's Croutons! They still have an uphill battle to fight, coming from such sorry circumstances, so let's all wish them good health in the coming weeks!!

I worked at a shelter for about a year and it was not uncommon to see litters born with congenital problems, but there's no way to make that not feel awful when it's your baby cat who's had the litter. Just know you are doing everything you can for them, and the rest is out of your hands. :(
