On a short Hiatus!
Added 2021-06-22 16:25:23 +0000 UTCHey guys, sorry for the silence! As many of you may know, Goop passed away Thursday night, after 4 hospital trips and many sleepless nights. Everything since has just kind of been a blur. Yesterday was the first Monday since starting this Patreon I missed a dog breed guide.
My mom needs me to housesit for the week, and I think it will be good for me. My laptop's been broken for a while so I won't be able to work from there. But the apartment is just so empty without him. He used to greet me every time I came in the door, now it's just silence. He used to wake us up and we'd all sing about eating breakfast, now Soup is too sad to even want to eat. Medicine and different cat foods I bought in an attempt to save him are still piled up on the kitchen table... His tower and the shelf I built for him to climb on are empty and lifeless. I want to move them out of sight, but part of me doesn't want to admit it's all really over.
So, sorry for spilling my guts out, but it's just been so hard. And this format always reminds me of old internet diaries like on Deviantart and Livejournal, so I feel like it's a good place to be open about my feelings. I just didn't think it would hit me this hard-- I didn't think it would happen at all. He only got to live half his lifespan, he was so young.
So I'm just gonna take a week away from the city and be offline for a while, all the support has been so wonderful and healing, but it's still really raw for me right now. And Soup as well, she's always been with Goop since she was a baby. She just paces around the apartment looking for him and keeps to herself, and refuses to eat (but of course still has room for dog ice cream!) So I think some time with a nice backyard and a change of scenery will be good for her too.
Thanks for sticking with me through all this, I can't thank you all enough for all the support and help! I know I will be back soon because drawing always makes me happy, it's just hard right now. I've got a Goopy comic planned and would like to tell his wild life story too, so I will work on writing those out and be back real soon.

I only mention that because I feel like we really got to know Goop through your art. Your work has a special power to communicate love and we all felt the love you had for Goop. I'm glad you realize that you need time to heal. The only advice I have, when you feel ready to even give a couple cans of food away, try to find a pet rescue to donate it to. Go and bring it in yourself and see how much it'll help the kitties who need it. It won't take away your pain or loss, but it'll feel really good to know that you and Goop are helping other cats and that you're doing it together. Take all the time you need, take care of yourself, and try to let other people help you if you can <3
