I did not understand the lame defense againt the parts guy. As soon as I read it, I came up with: suppose some guy in a really nice truck was killed and rolled. The police looked for his family while the truck sat in the impound lot. Finally, all paths had been explored, they had no idea who the guy was, so they finally sold it at a police auction. The parts guy bought it to part it out. Ask the guy if he just received stolen goods. For most auto parts, junkyards and auctions ate how these guys get parts that aren't manufactured anymore.
