0.63 Reflection and 0.64 Preview

Happy New Year, perverts! I'm buoyed by the response to shifting Ruin Me from free to purchasable! There seem to be folks finding the game through Itch's catalog and buying it, which is super encouraging. Thank y'all for being supportive of this shift!

Speaking of which, I want all of y'all that have access to the patron version to also have access to the "full" version in perpetuity. The simplest automatic method looks like including an Itch key for the public version with each patron key. If you go to the download page for the patron version on Itch (available to $2+ patrons), you should see a button below the files labeled "Get download key." If you hit that, you'll get a link to add the (DRM-free) public version to your account. Please tell me about any problems you run into! If this method doesn't work out, I have other approaches to try.

And a final side note: the state of erotic work on the internet right now, especially queer erotic work, is a bit shaky. Plenty of creators get suspended from Patreon and other sites for spurious reasons. Reflection on Fate of the Kritarchs

I'm pretty proud at how the conclusion to the citadel exploration went. There's basically an entire little Twine game hidden in Ruin Me now, which I think is fun. Hopefully it provides a sort of alternate perspective on some of the themes of the game. It's one of the less-horny parts of the game unless you're into weird mollusc-horrors like I am... so on second thought, many of you may find it titillating.

I added an additional Leo play scene. I'd like to hear more feedback on his character; I am aiming for a "problematic" relationship that feels kind of edgy and uncomfortable without crossing the line into actual coercion. If I've missed that mark anywhere, I'd like to adjust things. Ideally, Leo should feel like the bad-boy option in a trashy romance game.

I also added an advanced play scene with Terry for intense play. This is definitely a scene that could be expanded. To keep it simple, I've allowed you to pick each option for torture and pleasure once, as long as you balance Terry's discomfort. If y'all want more options or complexity, let me know: this is a great place for me to include more niche kinks or activities that might be too obscure or small in scope to have their own entire play scene. There's also the possibility of allowing you to repeat certain options with escalating intensity. I want to hear what y'all think!

Next Release

I am actively working on the finale, which continues to be a huge thing! I will not succumb to the hubris of saying that it will be the next release, but it keeps getting closer.

I still have things I want to implement for Leo, including more play scenes, fictional drug options, and (if I can get it to work) some 100% optional cuckolding stuff with Terry (Theresa/Terrence). I'm still very interested to hear more about what y'all think of the Leo stuff!

There's also a side activity for Pappy in the works that I've mentioned, where you can give lectures to townsfolk (with Terry as an optional assistant and demo partner). I'm not planning any sort of success or failure, but I'd like you to be able to escalate the "rowdiness" of the lecture to enable more horny options in the lecture.

I also intend to fill in missing drawn art and potentially improve some that's already in the game. I've got a general prompt out to my Center of Attention patrons on the most important things that feel unfinished, missing, or broken, and I welcome any feedback folks have in general! I'd like the free demo to leave a good impression for new players.
