Ruin Me 0.24 Preview and 0.23 Behind the Scenes on Authority

Hello, perverts! Thanks again for your understanding about me taking two weeks for the last release. It seems to have been well-received, at least on first glance; I'm seeing real high views/downloads on itch, and my Reddit posts have gotten a lot of upvotes. In this post I'll share some updates, talk a bit about authority in erotica, and preview what'll be in the next release!

You saw the results of my latest poll for Center of Attention patrons: enough folks said they'd prefer to see body markings in all poses that I tried out a way to easily apply them across all of Theresa's art. Currently, there's a poll up to pick the first Depravity 4 training scenes! Deep Throating is in the lead at the moment, but it's pretty close across the board.

Authority in Erotica

It's super common for porn and erotica to feature authority figures: teachers, bosses, cops. Power dynamics can be super hot, and in fantasy you can avoid or ignore the risk of abuse. Ruin Me definitely plays with that stuff: Theresa is your employer, while you are her idol/teacher/academic collaborator.

The Reform Institute ruinations, though, run the risk of taking it further than I'm comfortable with. You're dealing with people who have already been victimized by a doctor who's brainwashed them into being prisoners, and I don't think it's a good fit for the game to have the protagonist go "I'm your doctor now and you need to fuck me to get better."

I'm going to try and frame things to mitigate some of this: have the protagonist not appeal to their medical authority, have them make it clear that the patients are free to leave, and generally manage the tone. Still, it's a tricky line to walk! I could always mess it up, and I'm staying ready and willing to revise things if I feel like I made a mistake in retrospect.

Next Release

The next release will have the third possible training scene for Permissivity 4: training in spit play. It's super gross, but in a hot way. This release will also introduce the ability to skip "advanced training" scenes, so if you don't want to do all three of the currently-available ones, you can still advance Theresa to her maximum Permissivity of 4.

Her reaching 4 also means that some final routines and bits of nomenclature are unlocked! You'll be able to have her seek out sex or do sex work each night, give you custom greetings, or use custom terms for things.

The training scene is mostly done, and then I'll be starting on a horror expedition with the working title of The Smoky Glasses, which is an act-spanning story about predicament bondage and cooperation.

Last preview, I mentioned plans to revise more of Theresa's poses. For the moment, I've postponed this, but I do still intend to redraw some of her art before too long.
