Release 0.2.0 Behind the Scenes
Added 2020-02-24 19:57:16 +0000 UTCIt's out! I'm super nervous! Here are some notes for patrons on this initial release as well as some insight on what's coming up.
Versions
You can get specific info on what's in the game on Itch, but you might be wondering why the version number is 0.2.0. To start with, I'm using Semantic Versioning, which means that when the game is "done" (probably when it has an ending), the number will tick over to 1.x.x.
When I add actually-new stuff, the second number increments, to 0.3.x and so on. It's not a decimal number; if everything goes well, it'll hit 0.10.x, which will come after 0.9.x. The third number is reserved for bugfixes and stuff.
Why is it 0.2.0, though, if it's the first release? Well, 0.1.0 was something I shared with a few testers that I know IRL. Trust me, you're not missing much.
Work in Progress
Getting websites and Patreon and stuff working took enough time that I'm already pretty far along on a new version. 0.3.0 will, at the least, include:
- the exploration system that lets you discover new places around the mansion and Barrowport.
- a minor side event with a sex scene, unlocked via exploration.
- a new horror expedition, unlocked via exploration, that plays with the established format a bit and includes a new outfit for Theresa.
Some quick expectation management: this release will probably come out pretty soon. Please don't treat that as an indication that all releases will come so quickly. Like I said, I've been working on it for a bit. Since this isn't my day job (yet! π€) each release may take a while.
