It's kind of like a follow-up to the first Mr Beast video that is also a sequel to the Knightfall video. That's basically the best pitch I could possibly provide. Work is now underway on a more conventional media critique video essay on a subject I've been meaning to cover for a few months. I do love when you make a well reasoned video essay (I really liked the Joker 2 video! I made my watch wife it the second time!) but you are also great at a sarcastic takedown. I had no idea about this all happening so thanks for the explainer. Also love whoever is doing these thumbnails!

2024-12-16 15:30:30 +0000 UTCThe point of Soggy and the Soggy-adjacent isn't to debunk anything or convince anybody, it's to provide cover for people who know and understand that Mr Beast is a creep, but want to keep supporting him anyway. (And ofc for the featured creeps, including Mr Beast, who want to carry on as they have been without being inconvenienced.) They don't have to believe a word Soggy says, and they probably don't. This is a common setup in American alt-right politics, and one of the reasons it's so effective in wasting a lot of time and generating a lot of noise is that intelligent and honest people don't operate that way, so it's not something they naturally expect or account for.
