Poking her head out of the entrance to the attic, Daisy had noticed the ladder was down and the light was on. “Mom? Are you up here?”
A voice catches Daisy’s ear. “Yes sweetheart, just… cleaning.”

“Oh, this is a lot of our old stuff. You’ve been keeping it?”
“Until I need to toss it, there’s sentimental value in these boxes. Come, sit. I get the feeling you want to chat.”

“Yes… I’m adjusting to what I’ve learned in the past few months about sexuality. What do ya think about that kind of stuff? Have you ever… I mean, at least I uh… got to experiment.”
Tabitha looks up at her daughter coyly. “…And you don’t think I’ve ‘experimented’? The 80’s were a wild time, dear.”

“M-mom?”
“But honestly, I struggle sometimes imagining I’ve set a good example of what a proper path actually looks like. Settling for a loveless marriage for so long… I’ve become cold. I don’t like that about myself.”
Daisy softens. “Oh mom… I don’t see you that way.”

“You’ve got mother-bear instincts, that’s all! Ay, myself and even Hayley come to you and get compassion, not stone.” The mother-daughter combo embrace in a deep hug, Tabitha feeling a lot better. Daisy continues. “We’ll work on your love life too, you don’t have to live alone in this big house when I move out.”
“W-what??” Tabitha says, blushing. Daisy giggles.
