This journal is a fun one, I can promise everyone that. Basically a sleepover, we figured it would be fun having friends over for a pajama party and a movie. Mom was very into the plan once she’d heard it, putting in an extra effort to cater the event and help me with keeping something else a secret. But you’ll see that shortly, for now I’ll run the numbers.

I’m 11’3” and a half, weighing in now at 1880 pounds. You have to imagine how fast that number goes up these days, but I’m fairly aware of how my increasing mass takes up more space. Feels like to get the best connection with Beats we agree she can sit on me rather than next to me or miles away on the sofa. Claryssa’s here too, getting rather into Daisy’s favorite movie while I look on fondly, I’ve seen this film more than a dozen times.

It’s a period piece from way back in 2003, based on a book series about the adventures of a cunning sea captain… Honestly it’s fantastic. Even my mom enjoys the movie, watching as they sail to the far side of the world and back… Though the biggest surprise of the night had nothing to do with the ship on screen.

Knowing Daisy would be wrapped up in the best part of the movie, I coordinated with Hayley to stop by after work and was as quiet as possible when I gave the signal, Beatrice letting her and Roger in. A birthday party for Daisy! By the look on her face and the tears in her eyes she was completely unaware we’d planned this for her. Presents, cake and the company of friends, she thanked us all profusely and we all had a wonderful end to the night. Hugs were shared, don’t you worry, and I suspect if we’d done this any closer to her real birthday next month she would have caught on instantly. I’ll update you all same time next month once winter has finally ended and spring has begun!
