Temporary Change to Schedule plans

Hey everyone, here's a status update on what I'm currently working on and why Sunday's post will be different.

I began the GBWA comic in March of (our) 2020, focusing on Ayyla and her journal. In December 2020, I knew I wanted to have another main character set in the same universe but didn't want to commit more time on the regular, leaving the second character 'low key' and infrequent. This has come around to bite me, as since then I have found a way to do what is essentially two comics at once with a bridge between them, the Ayyla/Extra/Hayley format we know and love. 

At least, I love it. We get Ayyla's viewpoint, a different kind of narrative for Hayley and then a middle week to explore a detail or two that might have been missed otherwise. The series progresses very fast (all things considered) as months fly by routinely. Never stopping, you'll get December and January and February for better or worse. That's the format of the series, I could easily write a hundred page comic that thoroughly explores a particular event or party but would that be fun to read? Sexy enough for the genre? The 15 pages per 'month' will stay.

But Hayley's low-key start is lacking, these days. Anyone that wants to browse the roughly 40-page intro to her story might not get the best experience, at least not one that matches her current releases. I've heard from a small number of voices that Hayley just kind of 'appears' in the series, and that is fair.

So to solve this, those 40 pages will be turned into roughly 8 proper installments. They will be chronologically inserted into galleries, download folders, future archives and purchasable packs so that if you read the story from page one to page eight hundred, Hayley is properly incorporated in a similar way that the 'extra' weeks (And Daisy weeks) were gradually introduced. This will make sense when it is all done, it just needs an explanation.

What will this look like? Well, this Sunday and for 7 following 'rotations' we will have a fourth week. You can call it a Hayley relaunch week and it might look something like:

I've got to get through these, it's a key bump in the road and I apologize in advance if this feels like the series might tip toward a lot of Hayley content for the time being. I make this series in my off time, it's a big ask to do these extra releases all in addition to the regularly scheduled releases. Anyway,

For other announcements, it's a smaller task to slowly re-render some old pages and slap on a fancy new caption box. That won't slow down sunday releases and that will result in a nice website plus purchasable remastered version of the comic on gumroad. The bundle will include all the alternates at minimum, we'll see what it takes to get a pdf together as well. 

I appreciate that you all support me in making this comic, it's a passion of mine and I love how far the story has come. There's still so much ahead of us too, you can look forward to years of content as Ayyla grows and as my skills improve. Side projects are shelved, but not abandoned, and someday I promise they will be finished before I tackle something new.
