Darlene, Claryssa and Hayley enter the private pool located below their apartment. It required a membership but was worth every penny to give city girls such as themselves an easy way to cool off in summer. Concluding a conversation from the walk down, Claryssa feels slightly assured that her roomie didn’t quite take her sister’s advice to heart. “I didn’t figure you for the dominating type, Hayley. My sister loves trying to manipulate people…I’m glad it didn’t work on you.”

“Roger and I have similar preferences. Betty had recommended we try her ways, it didn’t work. That’s that.” Hayley says.

When the trio claim chairs to place their towels down and remove their footwear, Darlene gets in a stretch while she pokes some new fun at Claryssa. “Nng… That’s a good one. Hey Rissa, do any water events back when you were an Olympian?” Claryssa, untying her shoes, answers earnestly.

“I had the power for a water polo player, though being a part of a team requires more time invested. I preferred doing several single events-“ Darlene interjects, having intended to tease the stronger girl.

“I bet it’s because dense muscles like yours sink instead!”

With an eyeroll, Claryssa looks up at the giggling Darlene and stands. Her giggles are cut short when the blonde former-Olympian easily lifts Darlene by the waist and approaches the edge of the pool. She teases back with her own jab. “H-hey! Claryssa wait!”

“If my ‘dense muscle’ sinks… Surely these boobs of yours float! Ha!”

With a heft and a splash, Darlene sails into the pool with onlookers staring in shock. The youngest of the three, Claryssa couldn’t repress a giggle as Hayley kicked off her own sandals and went to enter the pool…without Claryssa’s assistance. “I’m not sure what you expected, Darlene.” Hayley says. “Just be careful with her, Cee.”

“It’s water, she’ll be fine. You know, I’m starting to like her.”

“That’s what I’m worried about.”

Settled in and calling things even, Claryssa and Hayley join Darlene in the pool for an afternoon of rest and relaxation. Darlene sparks an honest conversation about workouts after commenting on stress relief. “I needed this… Lots of knots in my back right now. Rissa, do you get sore from working out?”

“You would think so… But it’s rare that I feel sore. Lots of my training is to maintain what I’ve got. Hayley, how about you?”

“Hm? …Oh, I’m sore almost every day. Been feeling it in my bones for a few years… Comes with being older than you two, I’m just used to it I suppose.”
