Some have even lobbied for the change of classification altogether, lumping these Griffins in with Drakes and Draconic monsters rather than griffins due to their reptillian features and personalities.
I however, disagree with this crowd. American Bald Griffins are VERY Griffin-like. They hunt other monsters, for sustenance and sport. They tend to steer clear of human settlements, and they share the most informative and definite feature of an American Griffin: Their back legs are where their most prominent Talons reside. This odd physiological development is mostly unique to North and South American Griffins.
