She held a candle for Kazu for years, cared enough to encourage her to deal with her trauma and waited months more just to see her again...only to find out that Kazumi feels the same, but has apparently given up without even a fight. The "deal" is almost more of a slap in the face than marriage itself; did Kazumi really expect that Suzu would be content with that? We can be together for a month, and then I go get married to a man? Should Suzu assume Kazumi would be happy like that? Obviously not, but even the chance that she *might* is enough to make Suzu rightly doubt the sincerity of Kazumi's feelings. The nature of the story makes it feel obvious that this will get resolved, but it still hurts to see. And I'm sure Takumi will not have much more success from *his* side. Trauma all around! :(
