For this month's polls we are going to be polling on the introduction of "the Nightmare"!
The Nightmare, or Mære, is a paranormal, spiritual-type monster, similar to the Hym from the Witcher III. It appears to those plagued by the actions of their pasts, feeding on their guilt and trauma and causing them to reflect their torment in various ways. Claire will encounter at least two being fed upon by Nightmares - one, her own mother, by default found in a state of deep trauma and latched onto by a Nightmare, and two, Lady Vanessa Vane, whose eccentricities are indirectly caused by her associations with the Nightmare.
Now, these polls will essentially be used to to gauge what kind of form players wish the Nightmare to take - there are three rough ideas.
1) Akin to a demonic black horse, the traditional image of a Mære from Norse mythology. This version of the Nightmare will be a monstrous, demonic horselike creature oozing tar-like black essence from two engorged equine phalluses. Think dual-cocked horrorshow-centaur.
2) Akin to a writhing, formless mass of tentacles from the void, dripping with malicious black intent and burrowing through the victim in countless tendrils that burst from every orifice in a true show of "overwhelmed by your own fears". Think a D&D Beholder with an endless mass of tentacles radiating out from it.
3) A combination of both, half-tentacled eldritch horror show, half malformed equine abomination, scuttling forth on legs neither fully spider nor horse, a true visualization of terror. Think some kind of horse-minotaur with a tentacled lower half.
The Nightmare appears in "dreams", so everything it does is in Claire's head (and likely, to Claire's head, huehue) so as to speak - meaning some physically impossible stunts by way of tentacle or black demonic 'cum' is the name of the game if it catches you >:o

2021-09-16 15:58:08 +0000 UTCI can visualize these alright, I think, but if y'all get much more creative or abstract some concept art might help the polls be more accurate. Not like fully fleshed stuff, I know that's expensive & time-consuming, but a few barebones pencil drawings could help now and again. Like the Swogg is different than I imagined, for example. Awesome! But surprising. And anything Lovecraftian can vary super widely, although you did narrow it down with the beholder and hybrid minotaur references so tyvm for that!
