Concept Artwork: the Showgirls

Hello folks! Today I'm going to be talking about the Steam-exclusive questline for Claire's Quest, namely, the "Showgirls" Questline!

For those not in the loop, some of our content in the Steam version of Claire's Quest is removed due to censorship issues (see Discord for more info). To make up for it, our publisher generously offered to basically pledge at Tier V and sponsored the creation of a Showgirls Questline to make up for the missing content in Steam! 

Note that the Steam version can be made available to any patron already pledged over USD 20 in total! Notably, this solves the issue for our German patrons who cannot access the Steam version due to local laws - you can get the Steam content in this way so fret not! 

Now, onto what the Showgirls Questline will be all about!

The Showgirls Questline takes place in the Valos Slums, in a dilapidated housing block called the Maison Dorée. The area is not exactly known for its prosperity, and the Maison is no different. Most of the tenants have fallen on hard times, and the landlord is deeply frustrated after operating at a loss for months, and has decided to sell off the property. A prospective buyer intends to bulldoze the Maison Rouge completely and build a warehouse in its stead, which would displace all the tenants. This is where Claire comes in. 

Claire will be able to attain the deed of the Maison Rouge through a variety of means, either buying the property outright, or an attribute-based approach, ie. using Intrigue to find enough faults with the property that the first buyer will pull out, or using Seduction to convince the landlord to give a steep discount, etc.


Upon acquiring the property, she meets with the various tenants to find out why they can't make rent - these include Chloe, Marjorlane, and Bailey, along with their respective partners and would-be partners. One of these is Valentin, a struggling artist who has fallen on hard times after a prolonged bout of uninspired work. 

Eventually, Claire chances upon a business opportunity when she finds various nude sketches in Valentin's study of Chloe, who he has observed leaving and entering the Maison. However, having left the window open, the drawings fly out the window, and Claire has to chase them down. 

She eventually finds the drawings being observed with great interest. A local plutocrat offers Claire a handsome sum to have these drawings for himself, and Claire realizes the value in them. 

Going back to the Maison, Chloe can be persuaded by Claire to model nude for Valentin in exchange for Claire waiving rent. The drawings sell very well, and following this, Claire can recruit the tenants one by one for their various skillsets as well to model for Valentin.


Without spoiling too much, suffice to say this questline doesn't stop just at lewd drawings... Upgrades can be purchased, models persuaded into more and more risque acts, and kinks involved include exhibitionism/voyeur, swinging/open relationships, stripteasing, 'live' performances, and much more down the line.
