Jan 2021 Polls!

Hello and welcome to the first set of patron polls for the new year! :D

These polls will be devoted to the subject of the main storyline progression for Claire!

The whole point of Claire's character, as you may know, is that she is not a direct combatant, and in the rare situation where she's involved in the action, it's almost always in a stealth-based capacity, or with her somehow catching the opponent off-guard, like when they're asleep.

With the much-requested main storyline, we will see Claire take a key role in helping the overarching plot events unfold in the background. Rather than being the heroic party saving the world, her role is envisioned by us to be one of the usually-unseen logistical and diplomatic masterminds that streamline the "main" heroic antics you see in most games and stories.

That being said, people in such a role *may* be found on the frontlines in order to conduct observation and analysis. However, for the most part, they do stay far back and work from the shadows and behind the scenes.

For the main storyline, Claire may well find herself heading back and forth from the Continent and the Isles, talking with resistance leaders and key figures at the frontlines and learning about and helping with their needs. Alternatively, to be more 'in character' she could never set foot back on the Continent, being an unseen force rallying the beleaguered and the besieged.

We'd like to know how players would feel either way! Would you like to see Claire visiting war camps and cities under siege stalemate on the Continent, or would you rather have her remain on the Isles once she's fled?

Having her visit the Continent could give potential to a lot of interesting scenes making use of that war-torn setting, but having her stay on the Isles obviously lends greater time and focus to fleshing out the Isles!

Vote now and be heard!

I *like* the idea of revisiting the continent - as a envoy to the resistance and to gather information; but wholeheartedly agree that Clair's main progress should be more of stealth / influence / observer rather than heroine extraordinaire. I *like* that she is a 'normal' (rather than super-heroine) character that still overcomes obstacles and doesn't give up - that is far more admirable in many ways.

I voted for visiting the continent, because having a new area to explore sounds fun, and being near the front lines could make for an interesting change of atmosphere. However, one of my favorite parts of this game is NOT playing another hero/heroine whose brave actions save the realm. For me the fun with Claire is surviving as a young woman in an unforgiving land with the safety net of home and family gone. Basically, I hope the main quest line doesn't make Claire into a badass of any sort, even if it's more stealth/logistics than actual combat. I like struggling underdog Claire.

Yes, i approve that suggestion! By the way, i would like her to return to the port from where she embarked, to see again the people she know there.

Ah yes, peak Depravity! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

1a:
Having Claire visit the Continent from time to time and directly meet with the resistance leaders -
who think renting Claire out to monsters to appease them and stall / buy more time
- could be interesting!

Getting to see the shape the continent is in would be good. A great part of the atmosphere of the refugee camp at the beginning is the sense that the war is lost and escape is the only option. Seeing the monsters dominate the continent would reinforce that aspect.

Secret agent Claire's on the job go go super detective time

Broderick Black

I'd say a little bit of both, at the start of the quest Claire gets stuff from messagers but as she gets deeper in the quest and gets more experience she starts going to the continents.

Danielle

Hmmm, you'll KIND OF see it soon, because the main questline will advance to the point where she 'flashes back' to the captivity area, so you see a glimpse of what she went through After that we'll add in the part where you get to turn back which will be built "around" that last level

ArchitectOfDystopia

Hello im wondering when are you going to add the part where you could go back and try to rescue your mother?

Archerko

Only child choose either, adult choose both.
