December '19 Patron Polls!
Added 2019-12-16 17:32:24 +0000 UTCHello and welcome patrons to the last set of patron polls for 2019!
This month we will be polling on the subject of a pre-Refugee Camp section for our dark fantasy title.
Specifically, after you finish the 'tutorial', en route to a nearby town for a routine shopping trip, your home is ambushed by monsters and your mother sacrifices herself to let you escape.
Following her mother's advice, Claire runs past the town and heads for the nearest coastal settlement she can find.
However, via previous polls, patrons have expressed an interest in going back for Claire's mother.
Working on this, I am wondering what kind of setting patrons would like to see in this tentative town?
1) The battered local garrison still manages to resist total occupation, but half of the town is already lost to the monsters, and Claire's mother is held captive in the monster-occupied section of town. Claire has to sneak into the occupied section, and rescue her mother in time, before the town evacuates. Certain selfish, affluent townspeople will stand in Claire's way or outright hinder her. (50% HUMAN DRAMA / 50% THREAT OF MONSTERS)
2) The town has been completely overrun by monsters, and the handful of survivors are scattered in desperate hiding holes. Claire will be in constant danger as she sneaks around trying to find a way to rescue her mother and get out. (10% HUMAN DRAMA / 90% THREAT OF MONSTERS)
3) The town has not yet fallen, but has been besieged for weeks and is on the verge of cracking. Starvation and malnutrition have bred discontent among the populace, and the garrison struggles to maintain control. Claire will have to tread carefully while searching for a way to rescue her mother from the nearby monster camp... (90% HUMAN DRAMA / 10% THREAT OF MONSTERS)
As with all polls, this is meant to be a sort of "feeler" for what people want for this tentative new setting! Vote now to give your feedback!
(You can only vote once in these polls)

The pigfolk will definitely make an appearance, but other types of monsters are definitely going to feature too!

2019-12-17 15:15:45 +0000 UTCI like option 1 and 2. 3 seems to make the monster threat that makes you leave in the first place kinda like its not that big of a threat. 1 and 2 make it seem more like you really needed to get off the continent to the isles.

2019-12-17 07:35:03 +0000 UTCwhat kind of monsters will be on the attack? I'm more tempted to go with 90/10 human majority because I think those human stories will be more fun than pigman related ones, but I'm really not sure what the latter would entail..

2019-12-17 06:25:11 +0000 UTCI think Half-Overrun is fine (and sounds like your initial plan that you shared in the discord channel a bit back). Option 2 might be a bit too rough for a stage that is literally right after the Tutorial + would likely not offer as many interesting opportunities to gain stats with so little human interaction and Option 3 sounds p boring and like most any other area in the game TBH.
2019-12-16 20:01:37 +0000 UTCMainly because that would literally triple the intended amount of work for this segment! XP That aside, it's a cool concept, but probably not something we'll approach given we need to spend more time on the Isles.

2019-12-16 19:21:29 +0000 UTCWhy not make the option between these three dependent on the amount of time the player does other quests and whatnot? Like, maybe after a certain point in the story, the city becomes half-over run, rather than besieged, and if the player waits too long, the city would be entirely infested with monsters.
