Hello everyone. I hope you're doing great.
In the verge of starting the third decade of the 2000s, I couldnt not to look back and think about everything what has been transpiring this decade, the improvements and where things are headed on.
When 2010 began, I was living with my parents. I had hopes of getting off their claws-- or not; I had a horrible job and I didnt see any future for myself. Back then art was merely a hobby.
Lets walk forward 10 years. Not only my style has improved massively (although not as massively as other peeps I've seen), but I'm also working at this, even if delivering on time became a nope at some point when I started slowing down.
I got independence from my parents. I got 'forced' to learn to manage myself (the hardest thing I've had to learn, and that I'm still failing at). I changed a job that I hated -security guard- for arting. And while delivering has been awfully slow, its at least better than how it was at some point.
And this decade has been a rollercoaster. Started with a horrid depression that I was carrying since 2 years prior to that... and that got solved. Had to face challenges I didnt expect. I completed and realized dreams that back in 2010 I thought were just impossible. And how the last month of the last year I managed to fix and heal a relationship that had been really sour with my parents. Literally the only thing I need to complete to be, well, complete, is to deliver the stuff I owe, thing I'm working in right now.
Looking back, I realize not only that I've been incredibly fortunate and lucky, but I've managed to get surrounded by the best people anybody could wish. The world is scary and twisted (often for reasons beyond us), but its worth living. That's something I learned this decade, after managing to get over the worst depression I had to face in my life. I sincerely hope that if youre enduring difficulties, that you can find a way to get peace.
Happy New Year people. May this 2020 be the start of an even better decade than the previous one.
