2022-07-29 15:57:14 +0000 UTCDue to the enormous amount of additional vegetation please do not expect that this does not have an impact on performance. However, I do put a lot of effort into optimizing my mods (performing clustering of the entities, providing different LOD models, calculating reasonable drawing distances for each model and level, ...). To give you a feeling of what to expect in terms of performance here is what I recognized while testing/playing: Looking at the forest from far away (e.g. by flying over it) there is no noticeable loss in FPS. So even if you can see the whole map at once and hence all the vegetation this is not a thing due to the different LOD models. If you are in the forest and surrounded by vegetation you may lose up to 30% of FPS. This is due to the fact that there are a lot of entities that has to be rendered in HD models.

2022-07-29 14:14:59 +0000 UTCHey! That first solution you mentioned (Adding more Vertical planes) to preserve the model (Keeping the Trees Width/ Shape) sounds great! (Will this be included in the next Update?) And When you said "Do you use original HD Models or custom Modded Ones" If you're referring to your Mod, I'm just following the standard Install for your Vegetation Mods. Don't know if that's what you mean aha. Do you think the First Method you mentioned ("Preserving the Model Width by adding more Vertical Planes") Is the way, going forward? I don't know anything regarding this whole process but if it allows the Trees to maintain their Width, would you say this is the best way going forward? Thanks mate!

2022-07-20 16:51:30 +0000 UTCThank you for your feedback and supporting me. Regarding the LOD and SLOD models I have two things in mind: 1) For large trees (not only in height but also in width) I will add two more vertical planes (instead of only two perpendicular to each other). By that even when looking from a bad angle the model preserves roughly its original width. 2) I'm thinking about providing LOD and SLOD models for custom/modded HD models, too. Changing the HD models have no effect on the LOD models and so its possible that the transition becomes quite noticeable (depending on how different the custom HD model is compared to the original one). Do you use the original HD models or custom/modded ones? If so and if you are curious about my second bullet point please check out my mod without changing the HD models.

2022-07-19 06:34:16 +0000 UTCHey mate. I really enjoy your "Ultimate Forests" But would you ever consider working on the "LODs" for the Trees? I've looked at other Gameplay on Youtube showcasing "Ultimate Forests" so I know it's not just me. The whole Tree doesn't Pop-in and it's not every tree that's affected, but when you're driving Down Longer Roads some of the trees' textures seem to Render in as you approach, almost quickly changing shape. It's nothing major but it's really distracting. Oh and I've also edited the "Gameconfig" Thanks for reading this!!
