I really thought I would get back on my feet drawing quicker after last post but it did not happen 😭 the sun is back out though (not metaphorically I mean literally. It’s spring now) and I’m feeling more motivated so hopefully I’ll be back in my groove eventually.
In the meantime, anyone remember that cheeky little boy who Reiji took in as an apprentice and Shinki disliked thoroughly? He’s back!! I remembered him too 😂❤️

Gaara being in love w his husband is top tier to me always. They're in LOVE they have been through so MUCH !! And Shinki, oh my baby Shinki... I don't know how far I'll get with this little plot, but I've always liked it to explore his character and his relationship with Reiji. I think Shinki has some trouble understanding his relationship with Reiji-- In a way, he's very success oriented, and with Gaara it's easy, because he trains and he is strong and he is a good ninja and his father is Proud and he is Winning at being a Son. But Reiji doesn't train with him, nor does he care much for the ninja stuff, so his relationship with him is more abstract in Shinki's eyes- and when some other kid shows up and Reiji is suddenly doing all these things Shinki shares with his father but not with him- he feels threatened. I really hope to dig into it and address the way Shinki deep down still believes he can only be loved conditionally and doesn't fully understand yet that his parents love him no matter what

2024-09-30 14:21:22 +0000 UTCOkay, but that wistful expression on Gaara’s face as he watches Reiji train with his apprentice is adorable and so loving. I can’t get over it. But I absolutely adore the pure jealousy from Shinki and the utter confusion from Gaara. How Gaara seems to think this is just a casual conversation, bur Shinki is trying to garner so much more from it and it’s fueling so many emotions. I’m living for this grumpy little gremlin and sighing over Reiji because I’m a sucker for that man.
