Fate in Denial 79

After acquiring a super rare Servant with broken parameters related to Territory Control, there was nothing else that was remotely interesting in the rest of the trip.

So they returned to London and the Clock Tower.

“Hmm…I never considered that I would be in the lands of my enemies at some point.” Jeanne looked around the city that housed the royalty of her old enemies.

For some reason, it feels weird to be in this city.

“Right. You were from the time when Britain was fighting your Gauls’ successors.” Alter commented as she was feeling at home! Even her parameters are up just because she was in land.

“France, not Gaul, no one is calling that land like that for many years.” Jeanne rolled her eyes at them! Both Saber and Saber Alter are calling her a Saint from Gaul.

“And it's not Britain, but England.” She sighed again.

“But it’s called Great Britain…” They were confused.

“Now it's called Great Britain.” Ray, who was driving the van, replied.

“The collection of four Kingdoms is called Great Britain. England is one of them.”

“Oh… so it’s like that.”

“They should have conquered them. It feels strange to have four Kingdoms under one banner.” Morgan commented as she looked at the weather. It was cloudy, and it felt like it would rain soon.

“It is, it was one Kingdom but then modern times came and… Scoof you know the rest.” He scoffed, focusing on the road ahead instead.

“I see…”

The only ones who didn’t comment are Divine Spirits and Huntress, or a student who didn’t care about such things.

Hell, the city spirit simply looked at the sky through the car window and waited for that rain.

The damp weather was to her liking.

After a short drive, they arrived at the Clock Tower and entered the territory controlled by the Association.

The increase in the size of Wizard’s group is well noticed. Especially, that he had another Divine Spirit with dense Mana.

As he walked to his office, his followers quickly lined up to give reports.

“Anything of interest?” He asked the blonde girl and Waver, who is now El-Melloi the Second.

“Nothing that should bother you, my Lord,” Reines replied.

“Only some minor conflicts, some Dead Apostles, the usual pruning.” She expanded in some detail.

“I see. Then I guess my trip was more interesting in that case.” He chuckled, making the pair look around. New Servants… like a girl with lion ears, or a blonde with long hair, or that heavy presence from a black/blue-haired girl… they all were Servants…

Clearly, he did something on that cruise, a grail war?

“It’s good to hear that your holiday was interesting, my Lord.” She smoothly commented.

“You could say that. I was summoned to an alternative timeline by the counterforce and was compelled to participate in another Grail War.

It was a seven-on-seven matchup, as you can see. I was the Master of Archer. I won the whole thing, and as an extra, I even contracted the so-called impartial judge.” He looked at Jeanne.

“It was simply too dangerous to be an impartial judge, Master!” Jeanne complained as she heard the whole thing.

“Right, spoken as true Saint, Jeanne.” Ren teased her before looking at them.

“Interesting, she does look similar to Saber,” Waver commented, seeing similarities between them.

“Yes. But she is not King Arthur, instead Joan of Arc.” He clarified.

“I see…”

“...”

“Now it leads to another thing. I have another Greater Grail. I am thinking of using it for my faction and benefit.” He dropped a bombshell, making the pair’s eyes widen! That was something they didn’t expect!

“Another? You had one… of course you did…” The Ex-Rider’s Master commented to himself. Before shaking his head.

“I will modify it for a bit. Allowing simulation of Grail War and, among other things.” Ren smiled as he imagined Huge tournaments in the future. He is already moving towards that direction.

In the future, Grail Wars will become the premier sport of the entire human world.

People will once again worship heroes as they did before, not movie stars, but actual people who have accomplished great things.

“Oh, that could be great for experience.” Reines agreed; she had the idea to participate in the war, or at least prepare for it, to regain the reputation of her family name.

As the next one is approximately 50 years away…

But now… it would seem it will be different.

She already has a powerful knight in the form of Ser Gawain. The tankiest of them all. But she gained another Servant?

“Indeed. I will start working on it shortly and notify you if I need anything.”

“As you wish, My Lord.” The pair nodded before walking out of the office.

“That girl has a Servant,” Atalante commented as she picked up a presence.

“If one of our Knights serves as her bodyguard.” Saber Alter commented from the couch. She was eating a burger already. First thing she does upon arrival at the Capital is visit a Burger King.

“Your Knight? And does he even pay his respects to you?” The lion girl looked confused.

“He did, only that you didn’t notice. He is on duty, a simple nod is good enough for me-us…” She looked at her goody two-shoes, who was at the side, working as a bodyguard too.

Apart from doing that, they don’t have anything else to do.

Well, Alter does… and that is to eat good food.

“I see. You knights are strange.” Huntress shook her head before returning to her apples.

“Hn. I don’t expect Hunter to understand us.” The Fallen King of Knights replied.

The pair returned to banter, as others spread out to attend to their own tasks. Morgan went home, taking her Dragon Girl with her.

His knights remained with him. Atalante and Jeanne simply took Spirit Form as they didn’t want to get attention. While Ereshkigal took Tenochititlan outside to explore the city.

It left Gray, who went to the library to study history, as the recent acquisition of Divine Spirit made her curious about such beings.

Ereshkigal was one thing, as it human possession but

Tenochititlan was a pure Divine Spirit, or more like three spirits in one.

Never did she believe that such a thing was possible, that one God could shift three times…

Anyway, she studied Ren returned to his routines.

Teaching, acting all ‘Magician’, then spending time with his wife and lastly tinkering in his basement. His new hobby… Greater Grail and all the fancy systems!

The Greater Grail is a masterpiece of two True Magics.

The Heaven’s Feel and Kaleidoscope. Ray decided to add his fingerprint to it as well.

Denial of Nothingness will allow him to ignore many of the limitations of the Greater Grail; instead, it will become a medium that can be used to summon Servants.

However, it doesn’t mean that Servants will answer the call.

It is clear that no Hero would simply accept to be one’s minion.

It worked with Gawain because it was the King of Knights’ voice.

Apart from that, Gawain wouldn’t answer the call that easily.

Unless, of course, Raines cried and begged for help. As a Knight would answer such a call.

But apart from Knights? It would be easily a failure… not to mention big shots or Demigods, those would scoff and walk away. In extreme cases, it could accept and just kill the Master.

Honestly, this stuff could be very dangerous for normal people. That is why he is tinkering with the system, improving the chant of summoning.

‘Maybe a reverse summoning formula? I could add the Fifth magic… allow to summon backwards and see the ancient tales first hand.’

‘That could work as good and spare time to have fun in the past.’

Apart from new functions, Ren needed to do something with Justeaze’s will in the Greater Grail. Her presence could potentially interfere with what he wants.

As he continued to tinker, days passed, followed by weeks, and then several months.

The routine began to turn monotonous to him and his Servants.

“Master, anything interesting on the horizon?” Atalante, who is slowly becoming lazy, asked him. She is a lion, and a lion needs prey; eating hunted food all the time is making her senses become dull.

“She is right. It has been half a year, I request a holiday!” Saber Alter, who was quiet all of a sudden, spoke in a heated voice.

“Holiday? I could think of something.” Ren looked at his lazy Servant. He then recalled what those two female systems said to him.

“How about saving the world one more time?” He casually asked. His question got everyone’s attention.

“Is the world in danger!?” Jeanne appeared all of a sudden, looking worried.

“No, you silly girl. I am suggesting a holiday trip where we can save the world in the process from a Beast. The usual stuff when it comes to world saving.” He explained while turning his gaze to her.

“Oh, you mean another timeline?” The Saintess realised what he meant.

“Precisely. This timeline will have much more action. You might lose all that weight you got.”

“What weight!?!” All of a sudden, both Artorias and Atalante got self-conscious.

He chuckled, seeing them triggered like that.

“Jokes aside, we should get going, I am feeling like blowing things up as well. Redesigning entire systems and remodelling containers, adding true magics is making me tired.” Ren complained as he massaged his stiff neck.

“Alright!”

He nodded at them, seeing them all pumped up, Ren walked to the kitchen where his wife was cooking with Ereshkigal and Gray. Both of them were relegated to support cooks by the Fairy Queen, who decided that she needed a new hobby.

It was not strange that she quickly became a great cook. After all, Alchemy and cooking are practically the same thing.

“The dinner will be ready soon,” Morgan said without even looking. Her voice was serious as she was focusing on making the food perfect.

“Alright. We can speak once you are done.”

“Yes.” She nodded with a smile, while the other two looked at him, begging to free them!

Sadly, he ignored that. He can’t go against his wife… two times over!

Instead, he walked to the dining area, which is connected to the living room. In the living room, there was Tenochtitlan, who was seriously watching TV about cities around the world.

Funny how there was that one time when there was are documentary…about her! Well, the city and not the spirit, but still, she was a bit embarrassed that there was such a thing.

Regardless, she was a serious commentator at that time.

“Master. Please sit. Let’s watch television.” The black/blue-haired girl asked in a monotone tone.

“Alright.”

~~~
After a good half an hour, the food was ready, and Ren could finally mention the holidays.
“I am thinking about taking that offer from the Counter Force to visit a specific timeline that needs help.” He explained, and practically all of the Servants nodded at him.
“Hmm, I suppose we could visit. I need to test new magecraft.” Morgan nodded to his suggestion.
“What is this timeline?”
“In one of the Grail Wars, a Magus summoned Solomon. They won, and Solomon's wish got granted. He wanted a normal life, which led to the 72 Demons of Ars Goetia being set loose, and it caused the whole world to burn.
We will be going through singularities in time to undone this machination as Ars Goetia’s temple is outside of time to visit it we need to undo the singularities.”
“...Sounds interesting enough. Humans truly have many things that can go wrong.” Morgan shook her head.
“As long as we can visit cities, I don’t mind undoing this.” The Divine Spirit commented.
“Then it’s settled. We will be saving the world… again!” Ren chuckled, as his comment made the King of Knights and Jeanne grimace; they didn’t mind this, but when he said it like that, it made it sound like humans needed a lot of saving…
“Finally, I can let loose again.”
“Hn, I can hunt something decent, this time around.’
The Servants are getting pumped up.
“First, finish your food.” Morgan sharply put their excitement down with glowing blue eyes.
All of the noisy Servants immediately started to behave.
