After calming down, Ray pulled out his Pokedex and checked the disabled Pokeball.

[Deoxys]

[DNA Pokemon]

[Type: Psychic]

[Ability: Pressure]

[Gender: N/A]

[Moves: Leer, Wrap, Knock-Off, Night Shade, Teleport, Psyshock, Psychic]

“Not bad… not that I have what stage of life is this Pokémon in,” Ray commented as he had no idea what to do with it 

He didn’t capture this Pokémon after an extensive battle…, but regardless, he pulled out his Haunter’s Pokeball and disabled it.

Then, he pulled out his Chansey Pokeball and threw it. With a burst of light, his medic Pokémon appeared. After summoning her, he summoned his Dragonite and Charizard.

The Flame Pokemon looked surprised to see the Dragon Pokemon, and the same with the Egg Pokemon; the pair congratulated the Pseudo Legendary in their own way.

“I know Dragonite’s evolution is a big thing, but I have an even bigger thing going on.” Ray didn’t want to blow the bubble, but it was big.

“I just captured a Mythical Pokémon, and I want you two to be on guard.” The Junior Professor dropped a bombshell, prompting the pair to get serious immediately.

Honestly, it surprises Ray that Dragonite knows what a Mythical Pokémon is. It’s like this information is coded into their DNA…

“Chansey, I need you to use your healing moves on it.” After he said that, he pulled out Deoxys' Pokeball and, after taking a deep breath, summoned it.

After a burst of light, a purple meteorite rock appeared.

The Pokémon were confused for a second.

“Chansey, use your Heal Pulse.” Rah ignored the reactions and ordered to use a Pokémon move.

With a nod, the normal type walked over and began to heal it.

It lasted for a while; there was no reaction, until all of a sudden, the meteorite began to float. Green and red energies manifested, reforming the Pokémon with the core in its chest.

An alien creature opened its eyes and looked at Ray. At that moment, a certain… strange communication formed. There were words, simply intentions; an empathic and telepathic bond of sorts began to form.

Ray simply stared at the Mythical Pokémon before one of its tentacle hands moved… Dragonite and Charizard were ready to move, but Ray stopped them as he could tell that this Pokémon had no bad intentions.

The next moment, one of its hand tentacles touched Ray’s forehead, something snapped inside of him, like doors opened. He could hear voices!

He looked around… He could understand his Pokémon. He could tell his Charizard, who sounded like a passionate bodyguard, while his Dragonite was like a young but talented security guard… while Chansey was a big sister nurse. It was strange, as he could make them out while they spoke at the same time.

“Your talent for Psychic abilities is potent.” A voice that suppressed all other voices spoke directly into Ray’s mind.

‘Deoxys?’

“That is what they call me.” The Mythical Pokémon nodded.

‘I see that you awakened my psychic potential.’

“I did. It’s what attracted me in the first place.” The Pokémon showed images of itself attracted to an island in the Sevii Islands called Birth Island.

It was shaped like a triangle and had a peculiar magnetic field that attracted this Pokémon.

But then it picked up Ray’s strong Psychic power, which made Deoxys change its course and fly to him instead.

The Junior Professor immediately understood that the island is from an Event one could do in Pokémon LeafGreen and FireRed. He just broke the event…

‘Do you desire to challenge me? Deoxys? I captured you while you were in a weakened state.’

The two of them looked at each other for a while. The alien Pokémon's eyes dig deep into the trainer.

“No… I know everything that I wish to know. I will fight for you. I desire a worthy… trainer who can understand me. I am alien to this world, so are you. I believe this is what you humans call cosmic destiny.”

Ray was a bit surprised, but then it became obvious that Deoxys had most likely learned everything about him with its insanely powerful psychic powers.

‘In that case, I want to see how strong you are.’

“Fine.”

The Junior Professor looked at his three Pokémon.

“Deoxys will be joining us. I want to test its power. Dragonite, you will be fighting it.”

The Dragon/Flying type nodded as he was ready to fight!

The group walked to an opening where two Pokémon took sides.

“Let’s begin! Dragonite use Dragon Rush, and Deoxys uses Psychic!”

The Dragon Pokémon roared as he ignited in Blue and Green and rushed towards the DNA Pokémon. The Alien Pokémon didn’t react, and its eyes glowed a light purple. A crushing force slammed into Kanto Pseudo Legendary, sending him flying back like a ragdoll.

The Dragon/Flying slammed into a tree, crushing it, and then flew into the next one, stopping only after destroying three.

Ray gawked for a second, this power… absurd!

His Dragonite was not a pushover! As Dragonair, he could keep up and beat his Starter! Now, as he evolved, he was several times stronger!

Still, the Dragon Pokémon slowly stood up, as he was gnashing his teeth from pain.

Dragonite looked tired after a single attack.

“Show your Outrage, Dragonite!”

“Drago!!!” The Dragon/Flying roared angrily. His eyes glowed green, and a green and blue aura surrounded him. The Dragon Pokémon accelerated at Deoxys with the fury of a Pseudo-Legendary.

“Psyshock, Deoxys.”

“As you wish.”

The Psychic Pokémon lifted its human-like hand, and a light purple wave rushed from it.

Slamming into the incoming Dragon.

The Pokémon’s eyes turned blank as it collapsed mid-flight.

There were swirls in its eyes!

“...Damn… so effortlessly, I need to return to my training, you beaten my strongest Pokemon without much effort.”

“Your Dragon is not bad; he is young and still has a lot of room to grow.” The Alien Pokemon said to Ray.

“Yeah…” The trainer looked at the downed Pseudo Legendary.

“His growth is exceptional. I hope you will help me train them.” The Junior Professor smiled before looking at Chansey.

“Heal him, please.”

The Egg Pokémon rushed to the side of the Dragon/Flying and began to use Heal Pulse.

“I do not see a reason why not," The DNA Pokémon replied. Ray then looked at his Starter.

“Are you ready, Charizard?” The Pallet Native asked his Flame Pokémon.

“Char!”

The Trainer could sense, through his Psychic powers, the emotions of Fire/Flying types. Charizard was excited and a bit nervous.

It was a novel experience, as he never expected his Flame Pokémon to be nervous about anything.

As Charizard got into position, Deoxys stared blankly at Ray’s starter Pokémon.

“Then let’s start! Charizard! Use your most powerful Flamethrower! And Deoxys counter it with Psychic!”

The Fire/Flying type roared as intense flames rushed from his mouth towards the Psychic Pokémon.

The DNA Pokémon’s eyes glowed a light purple as the flames stopped midway before rushing backwards. The flames infused with psychic energies mixed and then slammed into a shocked Charizard! 

The blasted sent Ray’s starter into trees… it got the same treatment as Dragonite…

“Chansey, chan!” The Egg Pokémon, who hasn’t finished treating Dragonite, complained that she got another patient!

“Hahaha, sorry about that, but I needed to see how well my Charizard stacks with Deoxys.” Ray rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile.

The Normal type huffed as she continued to heal Dragonite.

The Junior Professor looked at the distance, it would seem Charizard won’t get up…

“Nicely done, Deoxys. I have a general idea about my Pokémon strength.” 

“Not an issue.”

With that said. Ray waited for his Pokémon to recover before continuing with his journey.

Now that he has Deoxys, he is not afraid of Kanto Birds, except maybe for Lugia and Ho-oh. But those two are not that territorial like the Kanto Birds, which could attack at sight.

After the break, Ray recalled all of his Pokémon and continued his trip towards Mt. Ember in the distance. In the distance, it was a volcano sticking out from an ocean. There was barely any land around this dormant volcano.

‘This will take ages.’ Instead of continuing his trip, Ray went to the beach on the side.

His eyes widened for a second as he could sense a presence on the beach.

For a second, he looked around, but he could not sense anything.

‘Wait…’

He placed his hand on the sand and focused on one presence.

‘Hmm…’

Ray closed his eyes as he focused even more. Not long after, he could tell…

‘Krabby.’

“Hah, I thought so!” The Junior Professor smirked as he continued to test his Psychic powers. He is a bit shocked by how strong his Psychic powers are from the very beginning.

It could be that because his mind powers were awakened by Deoxys and not a lesser Pokémon.

That could have played a huge part.

Regardless, he focused on the few Krabby’s that were on the beach.

He focused on one by one. 

Slowly, he discerned their characters and natures, including genders.

Genders are not that hard to figure out. The mind patterns are opposites. Males are all about territory and its security, while females are about the young and all that stuff.

Characters and nature are even easier; they are not that different from people. A rash person could do things without thinking, while a cautious person would only do them after thinking.

He can sense that and make his actions according to that.

“Now that I think about it… This shit is broken.” Ray said to himself as he moved his hand away from the ground and got up.

His combat tactics are reactive to some degree, now he can act before they even know it! 

“Psychic stuff is broken.” He grimaced for a second. 

Regardless, he learned something new about his psychic powers. He will train these later. Exploring takes priority. He has already set out for today, so he needs to finish.

He walked close to the water before throwing two pokeballs, and a pair of his serpentine Pokémon manifested.

Gyarados and Milotic.

“Gyarados, take me over there to that island.” Ray pointed at the volcano island in the distance.

The Water/Flying type looked at the island before nodding to his trainer. The Junior Professor then pulled out a small breathing mask and swimming goggles. After putting them on, he motioned for the Attrocious Pokémon to lower its head before getting on its head and holding the crest of the serpentine Pokémon.

The pair of Pokémon turned around and then went into the water.

Moments later, the pair of Water types dived into water, and Ray took his first trip through the Ocean. He finally got all that dust and dirt washed from his diving suit.

Not that he paid attention to that as he focused on what he was seeing, but he never imagined that there could be that much life underwater, as he could see Goldeen’s evolutionary line, Magicarp, Horsea, and Seadra!

‘Oh, hoho! Finally!’ 

Ray focused on the Horseas as he saw them and tried to figure out their character, nature, and gender.

As they kept on travelling, he used his psychic powers to instruct his Pokémon after getting Horsea’s attention.

‘Milotic! Use Twister! Send him into the air!’

His Tender Pokemon quickly adjusted to the idea that her trainer can talk directly into her head, as the Pokemon’s fan-like tail created a tornado in water that blasted the Dragon Pokemon out of the water.

Gyarados followed as they emerged from out water. 

Ray took off his breathing mask for a second and began instructing his Milotic.

This time, he is not as ‘naughty’ as he challenged the wild Pokémon for a battle instead of ambushing…

Not that the wild Pokémon expected the raw power from his Milotic. 

As the Horsea landed, the Junior Professor gave the order for the next attack.

“Use Hydro Pump!”

The Tender Pokémon opened her mouth and released a torrent of compressed water at Horsea, who dodged by going underwater.

“Yeah, I expected that.” Ray already saw through that as he swiftly ordered how to abuse it.

“Use Aqua Tail.” Milotic used her tail to create a current around her tail.

“Now lift him from the water, and nail him with Water Pulse.” Milotic followed his instructions with precision. The Tender Pokemon was quite powerful in water manipulation, as she was able to shoot that Dragon Pokemon from water again and shoot compressed water energy in the form of a ball.

But Horsea wasn’t giving up that easily as the Water-type shot Bubblebeam at incoming Water Pulse, causing it to slow down enough to dodge by falling.

“Not bad! My intuition was spot on!” Ray knew that this Horsea was strong enough! The Junior Professor’s psychic powers told him that this Water type was decent!

“But not good enough! Milotic, Ice Beam on the water!” 

His Tender Pokémon nodded as she froze the water underneath Horsea.

The Dragon Pokémon landed on the frozen water with a loud smack, and it hurt quite a bit. But then Ray grinned as he gave the last order of this battle.

“Use Aqua Tail!” The Water-type Pokémon jumped from the water and, with a flip, delivered a devastating whip slap into Horse.

It broke the frozen ice and caused an explosion of frozen water.

What was left after it was Horsea floating upside down with swirls in his eyes.

Ray quietly scrambled an empty Pokeball and threw it at the Dragon Pokémon.

The water-type was absorbed into the ball; there was no struggle as the Pokemon was out of commission. With a ding, it was a smooth capture!

“Yes!!! Finally! Damn it!” Ray clenched his free hand as he was hyped about this! He finally got the elusive water type that he wanted since Cerulean City!

As he was grinning silly, his Tender Pokémon brought the Pokeball over.

“Thanks, Milotic!” The Junior Professor thanked his water type before checking with the  Pokedex.

[Horsea]

[Dragon Pokemon]

[Type: Water]

[Ability: Swift Swim]

[Gender: Male]

[Moves: Water Gun, Leer, Smokescreen, Twister, Bubblebeam]

‘Decent, the secondary dragon typing is foreshadowed in Horsea from the very beginning.’ 

Ray can remember, even better now with his psychic awakening, that Horsea learns two typing moves by levelling up, water and dragon. 

‘Especially since Horsea can learn Dragon Dance and even Dragon Pulse.’

The Junior Professor smirked as he pocked the locked Pokeball.

Now that he has another future dragon, he can continue with the trip.

“Let’s continue, guys.” Ray put on his breathing mask, and his Attrocious Pokemon nodded as they submerged once more.

As they continued to travel towards the island, Ray could see more Pokemon, like Tentacool led by Tentacruel, on the seabed. He could also see the Starmie and occasional Gyarados swimming by.

After a while, he finally arrived as they emerged on the beach.

One of the first things he saw resting on the large black volcanic rocks on the beach was. Slowpokes…

Their reaction to a Gyarados was quite slow… 

Ray looked at them and they looked at him… for a bit before returning to their chilling…

“Damn, I think this is what they call Aura Farming.” The psychic trainer commented with an amused snort. These lazy bums don’t give a shit when a huge Attrocious Pokemon emerges, big enough to swallow them whole.

As the Junior Professor thought about how Slowpokes are farming Aura, he jumped down from the Gyarados' head and walked to the beach. He recalled the pair of Serpentine Pokémon and continued to walk towards the Volcano, which is not far from here.

Now that his Psychic senses have awakened, he can tell that there are a considerable number of Pokémon around this area.

After looking around, he began to walk around, looking for interesting Pokémon and maybe catch a glimpse of the Legendary Kanto Bird.

So far, he has only seen Spearows and a few Fearows, Geodudes, and Gravellers around the volcanic rocks, while in the patches of grass, there are Ponytas and even occasional Rapidash.

“Oh?” 

He stopped for a second as he spotted a red and yellow Pokémon snoozing on a big boulder. This Pokémon was treating the boulder like a bed.

“A Magmar, huh…my lucky day, I always wanted one.” Ray focused on the Spitfire Pokémon, learning more about it.

“Well, well. I do believe your lazy nature does help a bit.” Magmar is not supposed to be fast or agile; this Fire-Type is supposed to be a tank that can take and dish out damage.

With a burst of psychic energy, the Pokémon’s eyes opened. It slowly stood up and looked at the Junior Professor.

“Mag…mar…” 

“What do you mean, what? I am here to fight and capture you.” As he said that, Ray threw a pokeball casually, and his Milotic appeared before him.

“Use Hydro Pump.” 

With a nod, the Tender Pokémon opened her mouth and released a compressed torrent of water that slammed into the surprised Magmar’s face.

The fire type flew into a rock a few metres away and rolled for a bit before stopping with swirl in its eyes.

“... anticlimactic.” Ray shook his head before pulling out a pokeball, walking over to the Spitfire Pokémon, and casually throwing a Pokeball.

The fire type ended up being caught without any difficulty.

As Ray picked up the newly caught Magmar, he pulled out his Pokedex and checked what he got.

[Moves: Smog, Leer, Smokescreen, Fire Punch, Flamethrower]

“Not bad at all. To think that this guy skipped Ember altogether.” The Psychic Trainer from Pallet Town looked surprised by Magmar’s moves.

After checking them out, he pocketed the locked pokeball and continued to walk towards the dormant volcano.

“Hmm?” Rau stopped after walking for ten minutes. What he saw was a ripped man with silver hair sitting on a boulder, waiting for something.

“If you are here for Moltres, get in the line.” The man said in a harsh tone.

“Hah, so you want to capture it as well?” Ray asked with crossed arms. Only now did he notice that this guy had a Chikorita on his lap.

“Capture it? No! I wish to fight it!” The guy said with burning eyes.

“Hoh? Then do it soon, because I will capture it.” Ray waved his hand as he continued to walk towards the volcano.

“Hold it, pipsqueak. I said get in the line.” The guy stood up. He looked two metres tall and had ripped muscles…

“Hm, and you think you can stop me?” Ray pulled out a Pokeball.

“I will.” He pulled out a pokeball as well, his Chikorita got on his shoulder, reminding Ray of Ash.

‘Main Character vibes, much? I think I remember him from Pokémon Specials…’ 

The Junior Professor recalled something he saw in shorts on YouTube…

“Then let’s figure out who is better.”

“Hah, show your Pokémon pipsquick! Come! Salamance!” The guy threw his pokeball into the air, and a familiar Hoenn Pseudo Legendary appeared from the Pokeball.

“That is a decently raised Salamance you got there.” Ray acknowledged the Dragon/Flying before throwing his Pokeball, and with a burst of light, his Dragonite appeared before him.

“Oh, it has been a while since I fought one of these. You are not bad for a brat.” The man nodded before starting to order.

“Salamance blast him with Hyper Beam!” 

“Hyper Beam?” Ray looked surprised at the choice of moves…

Regardless, he quickly snapped out and ordered his Pokémon.

“Dragonite, use your speed, rotate to dodge and then use Dragon Rush!”

The Dragon Pokémon blasted off into the sky at the incoming attack. The Pokémon used the beam to increase its power by rotating before engulfing itself in green and blue flames and slamming into the Salamence, which was standing there after its attack had ended and couldn’t move anymore.

The fellow Dragon/Flying type roared in pain as it was nailed from the sky.

“Follow up by Dragonbreath!” 

“Quickly, Salamance, use Double Team to escape!” The muscle guy looked a bit concerned. It had been a while since his Salamance had been this hurt from a single attack!

‘This brat is good! Who is he?’

The Hoenn Pseudo Legendary created temporary clones to dodge the Dragonbreath.

“Stop with Dragonbreath and use Surf! Create a large wave.”

Ray swiftly adjusted, and Dragonite created a wave and began to ride it, going downwards from the sky.

“Intercept it with Dragon Claw!” The guy ordered his Dragon/Flying type to get close and deliver melee damage.

But this is where Ray grinned as he was about to use his combo move.

“Take all that water and deliver with your Aqua Tail, Dragonite!”

“W-What?” The guy looked shocked as he panicked; he had never seen anything like this!

“Quickly dodge that, Salamance!” He tried to order his Dragon Pokémon, but the Dragon type was close to another Dragon type. A rivalry started to form, and the pair of Pokémon all wanted was to do damage to each other — the bigger, the better!

That is why Salamance won’t dodge; instead, it will try to deliver a more powerful Dragon Claw.

Meanwhile, Dragonite roared as it took all the water and formed around its tail before a large and long twister. With a spin, the Dragon/Flying type slammed into a fellow Dragon Pokémon that was climbing upwards.

With a huge force, Dragonite’s Aqua Tail slammed into Salamence before it could even get close, as the volume of water was several times more than needed for the move.

It was an overload of a move, or one could say two moves at once!

The Dragon Pokémon from Hoenn tumbled into the ground, causing an explosion that created a crater before all that accelerated water slammed into it for a second time.

“Salamance! Damn it!” The ripped guy with his Chikorita rushed over to check on his Pokémon.

He saw his Pseudo-Legendary with swirls in his eyes and Dragonite standing next to him with a grin.

“I suppose, this is my—”

SCREECH

A loud bird screech interrupted Ray as the pair looked at the Volcano.

A burning bird revealed itself, looking angry.

“Moltres!” The tall, burly guy exclaimed in awe.

“It would seem our fight attracted the big bird,” Ray commented as he looked at his Dragonite.

“Dragonite, get ready. The Kanto Birds are very territorial, so you are going to fight it.” The Junior Professor said, at the same time, the tall guy recalled his knocked-out Salamance.

The dragon nodded as he rose into the air at absurd speed.

“Let’s go.”

The Legendary Bird screeched as it looked at the upstart opponent.

The Fire/Flying type rose into the air, opened its mouth, and released an intense, multicoloured Flamethrower.

“Cancel it with Hydro Pump!” 

Dragonite roared as he answered with a highly compressed water blast.

Sadly for Dragonite, the Flamethrower overpowered the Hydro Pump and continued to rush towards the Dragon/Flying type.

“Spin to dodge and rush towards Moltres with Dragon Rush!” Ray instructed swifty as his Pseudo Legendary rushed towards the Kanto Legendary Bird.

With its impressive speed, Ray’s Dragonite looked like a Green and Blue meteorite that slammed into the Flame Pokémon.

The bird screeched from pain, making Ray grin for a second.

The fight against Zapdos is still fresh in his mind; that humiliating defeat is like a sore wound to him! Seeing that his Pokémon can finally do a decent amount of damage is making him see progress!

“Don’t let up! Outrage!” 

Dragonite roared as his eyes turned green and began to beat up Moltres at close range, with claw strikes, kicks, and tail swipes.

SCREECH!!!

The Fire Bird released an screech that stopped Dragonite bit air, the Legendary Bird looked pissed before releasing a Fire Blast at point blank range.

The Dragon Pokemon looked a bit shocked when his attack was interrupted like that, but then, the next moment, the blast slammed into Dragon/Flying, blasting him out of the sky.

“Damn! What Power!” Ray complained.

“Indeed. This is a Legendary Pokémon.” The burly guy next to him didn’t look surprised by the power of Moltres.

“Blast him with Hydro Pump!” 

The dragon snapped out from the fall as he quickly rose into the air at an absurd speed before launching a super-effective attack at Moltress from close range.

The Flame Pokémon screeched from pain before rushing forward and slamming its wings into Dragonite.

The attack was powerful as the Pseudo Legendary tumbled from the air.

His Pokémon was out.

“That’s it, brat.” The guy commented next to Ray as he was ready to leave.

“Hmph! Dragonite is not my strongest.” Ray pointed his Pokeball as he recalled a falling Dragonite.

“Now come! Deoxys!” The Junior Professor threw a pokeball, and moments later, the alien Pokémon manifested, floating in the air.

“...What is that!?”

“Deoxys, a Mythical Pokémon,” Ray explained with crossed arms, before looking at his Pokémon.

“I will require your help.”

“Very well.” 

Moltres looked seriously at this new opponent.

“Use Teleport, then Psyshock.”

With that said, the DNA Pokémon was gone. It appeared next to Moltres and released a powerful psychic blast that caused the Flame Pokémon to fly away.

This time… the bird felt it!

“Now, follow up with Psychic, send that bird crashing down!”

“Easy.” The Alien Pokemon pointed his hand at the Fire bird, encasing it in a light purple light and then sending it flying into the ground with intense force.

“No way… Moltres is losing!?” The burly guy looked shocked at what was happening before him.

“Not yet,” Ray replied as he looked at where Moltres crashed as the bird got up and shot an energy ball into the sky.

Causing the sun to intensify.

“Sunny Day… huh…”

Then…

Next moment, a huge torrent of flames rushed at Deoxys, which was looking down where Moltres was.

“That’s Overheat with Sunny Day, not bad combo, but…”

“Deoxys, switch to speed mode and dodge.”

“Understood.”

The DNA Pokémon morphed into a slender form before blasting around the blast.

“Good! Now use Night Shade!” The Pokémon accelerated even further before slashing Moltres with its tentacle-like hands imbued with ghostly energies.

The legendary bird screeched from pain as it tumbled to the side.

“Switch to Attack Form and use Psyshock! Finish that bird off!” Ray ordered as his DNA Pokemon morphed into attack form, used one of its STAB moves.

Crushing Psychic attack slammed into the Fire Bird, making it drop to the ground. Swirls appeared in its eyes.

Ray rushed over before throwing a Pokeball at the downed bird.

The Pokeball made a contact, sucking in the knocked out Flame Pokemon.

The Junior Professor and the burly guy watched with bated breath as the pokeball trembled a couple of times before a loud click sound spread through the area.

“Hell yes!!!” Ray fist bumped with an excited grin! 

“Wonderful job, Deoxys!” The Psychic trainer grinned at his Alien Pokémon.

The DNA Pokémon nodded at him.

“Your directions made it possible; this Pokémon was strong.” 

“It's a team effort.” Ray nodded and motioned for the pokeball to float to him as he used his Psychic powers.

“Brat! I will seek you out one day for a rematch. Don’t lose that Moltres, I want to fight that Pokémon!” With that said, the brash man walked away.

“Hmm, sure… though I don’t even know his name.” The Pallet Native realised that after seeing him walk away.

“I can figure it out.”

“It’s fine.” Ray brushed it aside as he pulled out his Pokedex and looked at his newest catch!
