People clear across town would later say they heard the sound of what happened, though no one was exactly sure what they had heard; wet splattering, rending masonry, and a sort of thudding, slapping footfall that receded back into the woods... suffice to say, the slime-cake had *deflated* and, feeling a little more clear-headed, made good a hasty (if unsubtle) departure. Perhaps a good rest and lots of water will see it dissolve back into its original form...

As for Dumpling, well-! Shortly after that, her guests arrived to find her kitchen one colossal, goo-coated MESS. (More so than ususal!) In the center of it all, a glazed cake sat.. or so they thought until the "cake" shifted, and they realized it was none other than Dumpling!

The poor girl was in a daze. She absent-mindedly licked one finger, muttering to herself "what an interesting recipe... maybe a little more vanilla next time?"
