This is a fun illustration I'm working on with a Greek mythological theme. A man named Teresias witnesses two snakes copulating and, disgusted at what he sees, decides to slay them with a stick. The goddess Hera is not pleased and, as a punishment, changes him into a woman. Why Hera doesn't change Teresias into a snake or even a snake woman I'm not sure, as snakes nor sex are particularly associated only with women (in fact, snakes are rather phallic in appearance). Still, I think it's a fascinating story by Ovid and a good subject for an illustration.
If you don't mind, I'm going to go now and find two canoodling snakes to whack! It'll save me a ton of money transitioning! Gimme that girl body NOW, Hera!
Special thanks to patron Madison Anderson for introducing me to the story!
