Shakubus - Concept Art

Now that our friend the Incubus has made his debut in this current incarnation, I feel okay posting a little concept art about settling on the design.

It's taken me forever to return to the Incubus story line (at least in the core comics, which is the only canon I particularly care about) but part of the lore was always going to be that he would initially take a form based upon whatever non-human creature came into contact with the pot. Hence the Arachnobus, and now the shakubus.

As you can see, there were a few elements I knew I wanted to include from the get go (the hammer head eyes seemed like a nice nod to the horns of his humanoid form) but other elements were more fluid. One arrangement was even more shark-like, with no legs (only just the one appendage)!

Ultimately, We landed on the version you see in the comic. I hope y'all approve!

Man,one wonders what other Incubus-ified creatures could show up in future chapters...
