Aug/Sept Update's Extras Blog + Tier 2 Downloads (058)

The sun is still up and so is the fun. It's kinda late by now but I couldn't leave you without the second part of this update so what about a last quick trip to the tropical lands and summer homes before we move to more spoopier territories. Don't forget to bring the sunscreen 🧴💦 ;)

Anya's Beach Day

Even pretend families can go on a vacation, but maybe it's just part os a coverup mission or something in those veins. Anya's doing her part on being the cute daughter playing by the shore though I hope she doesn't get overwhelmed by all the thoughts of the people around as the beach gets more crowded.

This type of swimwear bottoms look a bit more modern but since it looks way cute to me I couldn't resist adding this version. Maybe I should have added a more vintage swimsuit with stripes and a swimming cap as well, but anyways... what about something that could also be time period accurate somehow instead.

And what if this exotic beach was of the nudist type, now we are talking! No clothes allowed, this is true european style!(?)

If you remember this piece originated as a doodle a couple years ago, it looked kinda wonky, but that's par of the course with my stuff haha. In my mind she was always at some kind of resort but I wasn't sure how much detailed I wanted to make the background, I was leaning more towards a color sketch for this piece back then(if I ever was to color it). When I found it again I felt it would make a cool piece for this summer set after some tweaks, so when fixing it I changed it quite a bit to show more of the background and added all those characters and stuff and all of a sudden it turned into a full illustration.

This one was already in the regular pack since I don't consider this type of drawing anything lewd or risqué, so nothing new here, but when I was getting the extras ready I though to myself what if I added a bikini top that got accidentally untied, that would change the picture a bit. The simple idea of peeking by accident what you wouldn't normally see changes the mood, don't you think? Context is everything.

Okay, that's not the only reason I brought up this picture again, here is a little something for you...

Continuing with the idea of the misshaps now the tail seems that got stuck in the pool border while picking her up, how unfortunate :P But it's alright, she don't mind and so do we!

Okay, what's next? I think it's time for an exlcusive addition, what I've been painting during these last days...

Towel

The sun is saying goodbye and it's getting cold already so we better call it a day.

Simbolizing the end of this set and the end of summer as well painting a girl at sunset felt appropiate. Too bad it took me this long xD

At first I thought doing a color sketch would suffice but I couldn't resist adding some details to the shading and this is the result. I guess I really wanted to paint something like this for a while, a calm and simple portrait with a big sky, plus there's something special about a character being wrapped up in a towel I find very wholesome and cute. No wonder I did it many times, and I think this isn't the last. This one isn't very detailed but maybe I can improve it next time?

She's a bit tired and probably hungry after a long day playing and laughing with friends. Did they go skinny dipping? Or maybe she was caught right at the moment she was just getiing ready to get changed quickly out in the open, adventurous! I'll leave it to your imagination. One thing's for sure, the trip won't be finished without going out for some dinner, what do you crave for?
