January bonus #4: Baseball Stars (Neo Geo Pocket / Game Boy Works Gaiden)

ANYWAY. Here is the first proper episode of my Neo Geo Pocket/Color series—that is, the first episode about a game rather than the system or market conditions into which it was birthed. I had originally planned to make this series a quick, condensed thing that covers several games per episode in compact form, but you know what? No. I'm going to take my time with NGP/C and luxuriate in its greatness. Revel in it! Bask!
Looking at the state of the world right now and the way things are trending, I realize it might be foolhardy to embark upon a years-long commitment like this. I am not an optimistic person by nature, but let this be the one spark of hope I let slip into the universe: the possibility that I'll make it through the entire monochrome and U.S. color library for this system. At the very least, I promise to stay alive long enough to get the black-and-white library wrapped. That's a guarantee from me to you.
For now, though, please enjoy tiny grey men playing baseball 27 years ago.

This is definitely the energy we need right now. Let's celebrate and do the things we deeply care about, because when else are we gonna do it? Better an incomplete, luxurious celebration than none at all, I say.
