Segaiden 69: Power Strike

Segaiden is back! Provided you subscribe to the Sega Challenge newsletter, that is. The rest of you are out of luck, because this episode is not available at retail in the U.S. That's right, this episode tackles the stunning Compile shooter Power Strike, which some weirdos (read: everyone but the Sega of America marketing people who named it Power Strike and made it available only through mail order) call Aleste. Whatever your chosen nomenclature, the fact remains that this game rules.

A couple of quick caveats: first, I did in fact use an infinite lives cheat in this episode. And, secondly, I noticed only this morning that this episode shows up as being about three minutes longer than it should because a stray video element got stuck at the end of the editing timeline. There is nothing beyond the 15-minute mark! You can safely stop watching then!

Wild to see this pop up todsy; yesterday I hooked up the Turbo Mini for the first time in a year and played a ton of the Aleste-in-all-but-name Blazing Lazers. And now here you are with a video on the start of the series. Great vid.

Oh, good suggestion!

You also say in the intro it's episode sixty eight, when the title and on-screen graphics say 69.

The caption for Power Strike says Powere Strike. Two reasons now to reedit.

Peter LaPrade

Nice.

About the blank space at the end: you might be able to use the Editor feature in YouTube Studio to just clip that bit off! (Caveat that I've never done this before myself, so I might not know what I'm talking about). Looking forward to watching this either way, I only know it for the soundtrack, which I love.
