NES Works 125: Monster Party & Street Cop
Added 2024-01-31 13:15:05 +0000 UTCI enjoyed creating this episode, which gave me the excuse to finally play Monster Party. It's pretty good! This is not a game that I went into blinded by nostalgia, so the fact that I enjoyed it (except for the accidental "gotcha" in the penultimate stage) speaks well to its fundamental quality.
I did enjoy playing Street Cop less. Not because of the premise so much as because it's a Power Pad game. Thank god there's only one more of those to go.

I'm surprised Bandai gave Human enough budget to crank out a game full of personality, ambition, and polish! We've come a long way from Chubby Cherub, that's for sure. Also: nice cameo of the recently-unearthed Super Sushi Pinball in the Nintendo Power section.
