NES Works 115: Track & Field II and World Games

Good morning! And indeed it is good, because I finally feel alive enough to sit in front of a camera again and record hosting segments after my beloved partner in marriage decided to take the "in sickness" part of our vows seriously and pass some kinda sinus crud along to me. I can't promise that this video was necessarily worth the wait, as I'm not a huge fan of this sort of fragmentary sports mini-game collection. But maybe you are! And if so, here you go. And if not, well, at least the wait for the next episode is now shorter. See, it's win-win.

I loved Track & Field II as a kid, likely thanks to that NP cover feature. It is still a go-to when I think of the system and want to play something quick and easy (thanks to tons of practice!). A friend down the street had World Games, and I developed a fondness for it as well, but definitely to a lesser degree. Something about launching a cliff diver into the jagged rocks below still gives me a chuckle.

Thanks—I decided it might not be a bad idea to update it after discovering that Nintendo maintains an ongoing trademark for an NES controller graphic very similar to the one I created.

That new logo is great!
