In the early days, it was Heiankyo Alien. A couple of years ago, it shifted to The Tower of Druaga. And now, every other danged game I talk about wishes it were Xevious. Well, this episode brings this trend to maximum output as I look at both Legendary Wings, a game heavily influenced by Xevious, and the NES release of Xevious itself. NES Works #086: The only episode that eats its own tail!

If Xevious is the root ancestor of Capcom, Legendary Wings is the weird missing link between several branches in it's evolution.
