Next episode hopefully won't be quite as long as this, and it definitely won't be made while I'm traveling. So it should be up a bit more, uh, punctiliously. And then, once that's done, I can talk about games that aren't Final Fantasy II again.

I still think back on a comment you made in one of the first episodes of Retronauts, that Final Fantasy IV is basically a Final Fantasy III fan fiction. The comment was a little flip, sure, but I think it is actually an interesting way to look at the game in its historical context. Though the industry had significantly matured by this point, many of the writers and developers of the time were still amateurs, and it shows in this game where story and mechanics blend in such weird ways.
