Super NES Works: Drakkhen

Sorry this one's later than usual. It turns out dealing with the final details of sending two books to an actual printing press at once is very time-consuming and difficult! I haven't had a lick of free time in ages and I am very glad to have the books off my plate — hopefully they'll pass preflight with flying colors.

Also, this upload was delayed further… right as I finished rendering the video, my cousin-in-law came over to visit my wife. She brought her elementary-age son, whose first request upon arriving was, "Uncle Jeremy, can we go play Duck Hunt?" I mean, you can't say no to that. Kid has his head on straight.

Anyway, Drakkhen is really interesting. I kind of wish I had 30 hours to sink into unraveling it, because I feel like there's something good buried inside its alien, unfriendly world. I don't think this game has a good reputation, probably because the first thing that happens to anyone experimenting with it on a ROM trawl is to be vaporized by a giant dog-demon head. But there's definitely something to this game, even if I don't have time in my life to unravel precisely what that is…

This was fantastic. It was incomprehensible to me during a rental but I'd love to go back and look at this closer with a FAQ.
