Hi everyone,
As the year winds down, I wanted to offer a sincere and heartfelt thank-you for your support this past year. It's been a really difficult and challenging year for me, one where honestly sometimes I wonder how I can keep going at all. As such, it's been difficult for me to find time to work on projects like Game Boy World and Good Nintentions, which is a shame because they're honestly my favorite things I've ever created. I haven't been nearly as productive in 2015 as I normally am, and that's frustrating. So I really appreciate everyone who's continued supporting this project anyway—it would literally be impossible for me to put together these videos and books without this Patreon campaign. Your enthusiasm for this work, your financial support, and your encouragement have been a huge help for me this year.
My goal for the coming year is to devote myself to these projects, even if it means cutting back in other areas of my life. I've been slowly accumulating the means to record HD, RGB videos for a variety of systems, and I'd like to dabble in more than just NES and Game Boy. I have an RGB-modded Lynx (!) on its way to me from Germany right now, and a Game Boy Player en route as well. That'll bring my capture capabilities to... geez, I dunno. Game Boy, NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Lynx, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Genesis, Master System, and of course all modern consoles. That's a bunch! If I could find the means to do two videos a week the way I'd like, I could literally run through the entire Lynx catalog in nine months... not that I'd actually want to go into massive depth on the Lynx twice a week for nine months straight. But you get the point. There's a whole world of history out there, and the only thing stopping me from cataloguing/reviewing/tracing influences for it all is time. Damnable mortality! Curse this frail meat prison.
Well, until I can unload my consciousness to the cloud and still somehow capture gameplay videos of classic games, or somehow make a viable living from producing videos about Game Boy games no one cares about, I'll simply have to do my best. Hopefully that will be good enough.
For now, here is one last Game Boy World video for 2015. It's 1/2 review, 1/2 TOSE apologia. I am proud that my videos go where other historians would never think to tread. Thanks again, and here's to a more productive, more interesting, and even more comprehensive 2016!
