An experiment: First-look Anatomy of Games features

YouTube makes it pretty easy to share hidden content, but it's far more difficult with a WordPress blog. It's either hidden to everyone except administrators or hidden behind an ugly password protection lock. Either way, not cool. But, I'd like to start sending out Anatomy content to you folks in advance of its publication, like I do with YouTube videos. Since I can't just share a link, I decided to export tomorrow's Anatomy update as a PDF. It's not the idea way to share, but hopefully it does the trick for the moment? Please let me know what you think. If it's too much trouble to read this way, I'll just go back to posting publicly and sharing the link. So here's the seventh part of Final Fantasy VI, which will go live on the site tomorrow. Yea? Nay?

Wow, perfect. Thanks so much for the link! Here's the post for those who would prefer to read it on the site: http://2-dimensions.com/2014/11/19/the-anatomy-of-final-fantasy-vi-7-m-m-m-m-magic/

There's a WordPress plugin that lets you hide posts so they don't show up on the blog, but are accessible by URL. It looks pretty easy to use: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-hide-post/

It requires like 5 minutes of work — no trouble at all.

Do you have any suggestions for an alternate solution? I don't want to gunk up the site with password-protected posts no one can read, and posting the raw text and images here wouldn't work.

Jeremy Parish

If it's not any more time consuming, then I'm all for it, but if it's tedious to do, then I'm fine with reading these when everyone else gets 'em.

I appreciate your additional comment on how to locate the PDF. The format works just fine for an early release.

Looks great and I have no problem downloading a PDF for the content. If it puts no undue burden on you I'd say, for me, this is a great idea.

Dave Kelly

Nay, too complicated and pdf is a format you can't read good on a mobile device for example.

Niels Kobschätzki

In case it isn't immediately obvious thanks to the weird layout this site uses, the PDF is in the upper right above the update text. And sorry about all the link crap at the end of the PDF... no easy way for me to scrape that out of the file.
