Thanks for the responses!

Based on the replies to my solicitation over the weekend, it seems pretty obvious people are drawn much more to Game Boy World than Anatomy of Games... so much so, in fact, I'm wondering if it's really a good idea to publish so much Anatomy material. Would you all rather I produce more video content than written? That means fewer items each month, since video takes much longer to create, but I'm into it if you are. Speaking of less content, I apologize that updates to my projects are pretty much not happening this week — it's the final week of the fall review crunch, and last week's Retronauts recording marathon was super disruptive. I'll be back on a normal (or better) schedule next week, with a goal of finishing up Game Boy World's 1989 releases (five more games!) by the end of the year, along with a few Anatomy and Metroidvania videos. Should be fun. Thanks as always for your support!

Absolutely. Having a curated written source of gameboy games with information and photos is just as important as the videos.

While anatomy of games are great, obviously a lot of the games are games you are intimately familiar with and you are knowledgable to speak about in depth. Which is a good thing. Unfortunately, sometimes they are games I'm not that interested in reading about in that much depth. This is not your fault, it's mine. Like I can read Anatomy of Mario much more enjoyably than anatomy of Goonies which I didn't care for. (The game not the articles.) Wheras being a huge Chronogaming fan, and looking at in depth history of a systems library in release order is a joy to read about. Every single game. It's video game history and it is compelling stuff. And you are building a compelling body of work on the Gameboy library. If I could channel all my funding to GBW I would.

Sean Clements

Please understand that GBW isn't about nostalgia — it's a historical research/curation project for a platform that has gone largely ignored. Anything I do is going to need to have more substance behind it than "I love these games."

Jeremy Parish

Awesome! Hit a wider range of video games from other platforms. Really, why stick to one platform when there is an abundance of games to be put to nostalgic perspective?

Anything retro video game related. I discovered your work through Retronauts. I prefer video or audio retrospectives. It would be neat if there were pieces done NPR or radio news magazine style on gaming history. If Game Boy World was expanded to Retro Game World to cover old games on other formats, I think that would be awesome. I'd also like to add I love the obscurity of the titles chosen for GBW.

Actually, Anatomy videos are one of the stretch goals that have been met for this campaign! I've been working on adapting FFVI to video (simply reading the existing text didn't work at all). Also, what if I were to tackle a wider topic than GBW with a video series? I'm interested to hear what exactly everyone is in for here.

Jeremy Parish

Personally, I like the Anatomy series more than Game Boy World, because Anatomy is a wider range. (And that wider range has happened to pick up more of my interests.) I didn't respond to the poll because I'm most interested in the material that's available through YouTube or your site, because I like consuming it one piece of content at a time, as you produce it. That preference, though, is all about subject matter, not format. It would be interesting to see an anatomy series done in video form - although I recognize the enormous amount of work it would be.

Scott Schneider

The videos you create in Game Boy World are informative. If I had to choose, I'd ask for more G.B.W content. At your leisure, of course, Mr. Parish.

J.D.

I love both. It's not just the videos for Game Boy World, tho---I enjoy reading them. So keep up the written content please, not just videos.

Austin Schaefer

I really enjoy both. Anatomy is amazing but it really depends on the game you are writing about. The latest Final Fantasy write ups are not my thing, but all the others were great.

Tom Rauwerdink

I prefer Game Boy World over Anatomy of Games, but both are great.
