I disagree. Its great to see a character develop and reform. This IS after all "Redemption Arc". Doesn't mean its the redemption arc of only the MC...but others too.

Maybe she can just keep being a manipulative liar, just for mostly good reasons this time. I wonder if they're going to tell Theobald the truth, or find some perfect lie to tell him.

2026-02-04 09:57:11 +0000 UTCThis is a spectacular sequence of chapters overall. I've been enjoying them immensely. Frankly, Lucian and Aurelia has amazing chemistry. Because of Lucians lack of respect for her, he's been able to be honest with her to an extent he's not with anyone else, and with her now proving herself to him, that makes the change in dynamic really interesting to watch. The trust Lucian is providing feel earned, I loved the "She's My Bitch!" exclamation from Lucian as well, which just seemed appropriately jubilant when he found that instead of all his worst assumptions coming true, she took such a meaningful step towards earning his trust. Now, will there be a romance between them as well? Heck if I know, but considering how I'd never have guessed it when she was first introduced, that's great character work. Their interactions have meaningfully been changing, and their banter is definitively getting more... Charged, so to speak. She's memorable. Helen and his Alchemist pal are fun characters too, but I'll admit that they're not making as big of an impression. Doesn't help that they've been barely present compared to Aurelia. Going back to the scene where they confronted Cyril, the meeting felt ominous and dark. The scene was set excellently. On reading, it Felt oppressive, which made the latter triumph even better. The scene where he revealed what she was 'fated' to do... It made me believe that she has had a change of heart. Perhaps that is a bit of a folly, but I hope not. She's gotten out from the temple and is seeing the real world for the first time. Properly. With no more dreams manipulating her. It works, and I want her own Redemption Arc to have meaning as well. All in all, these scenes have been perfectly paced, and shows astonishing improvement in their pacing compared to the earlier chapters of the story. Kudos to that!

2026-02-04 07:20:01 +0000 UTCUnlikely. With Cyril on the demons side he'll likely become the Demon Emperor's vessel. With him cured and back in his prime, AND possessed by the DE? He's going to as powerful or even more so than the DE was in the original timeline, even without the formless essence.

2026-02-04 06:54:28 +0000 UTCI feel like there's a great alternate ending to this story where Lucian and Rowan roll up to the final boss ready to fight for their lives, and pull off an infinite wombo combo that puts the demon king in the dirt before it gets to the good part of his theme music. Expedition 33 style you did all the optional content and beat Simon, of course the final boss is anticlimactic!
