Milestones and Plans

We hit the $250 a month milestone, and also 100 Patrons. While I try to avoid spamming the Patreon page with too many non-release posts, I really felt a need to say how incredible it is that so many people are supporting Sculptor. Truly, thank you all.

What this means going forward is I'll be able to free up a little more time for Sculptor by reducing my day job workload a little. The next goal is to get another artist on-board to speed up the rate at which art can be added. I never expected to have to think about things like that so quickly, but it feels like a real possibility now.

While I am making an update post, I'll take the chance to give a few other details on things that are going on:

Something I am planning on doing is expanding the Roadmap to give a bit more detail about what future releases will contain (provisionally), and what my longer-term development goals are. Please do let me know if there are things you'd like to know that might fit in there.

On the release front: there will be a 0.10.1 release. There are some bugs that need fixing, but it won't contain any new content. 0.11 is planned for the 10th, and a big goal there is to avoid wrapping up the release at the last minute, as it makes it a pain to know when the release is going to drop.

The next artwork drop will be the first custom scene art (the first big scene, formerly of stick-man temp-art fame). This is super exciting, but please don't expect it in 0.11 as it'll be the first scene work for the artist for Sculptor and so there will be some back and forth to get it right. Obviously familiarity will increase delivery speed, so things should ramp up over time.

I would also like to make a quick note that a lot of people became Patrons for this release, right at the end of the month. As the Patreon is charge-up-front, and they charge at the beginning of each month, this means you will get charged twice quickly, which you may not have been expecting. If this is a problem for you, let me know, and I'll refund one of the payments for you. This is only an issue when you first sign up, after that all charges will be regular at the start of the month.
