Getting Things Done!

Hi guys,

Ava here—back on Patreon Post duty! 🙂

We’ve checked a lot off the to-do list in this week’s video. We picked up the tanks from the welder and got them installed, put in all the new thru-hulls (complete with Mads’ 3D-printed plugs), made both hulls watertight, and even got the bottom paint on—plus a few other satisfying jobs.

And speaking of satisfying… I may have had a little too much fun vacuuming every nook and cranny of this boat. I cannot tell you how good it feels to finally suck up all that dust. Since we’ll be living aboard while motoring up the ICW in less than a month, I’m doing my best to keep the fiberglass particles out of our lungs and off our sandwiches.

In real-time updates—we have some very good news! One of the big things holding us back from moving the boat north was liability insurance. We thought we couldn’t get it without a completed survey, but thanks to our friends BJ and Lisa, we got in touch with a great broker who found us a policy we can use before the survey. Once it’s complete, we’ll be able to upgrade to full hull coverage. This means… we can now start scheduling our splash date!

At this point, most of the big jobs are done. Well… after tomorrow, anyway—we’re installing the engine wiring harnesses and push/pull cables next, which means lots of crawling into tight, dark spaces. But once that’s finished, we’ll shift to the smaller stuff—installing the new head and building a makeshift bed on the settee so the boat is livable for our trip north.

As always, can’t wait to share every dusty, ridiculous, boat-y moment with you all.

See you next week!

Do you know your approximate departure date for bringing the catamaran up? We live in Southport NC and you will pass by on your way north. If you need anything, let us know.
